This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a major social services transformation project as part of a cross-functional Agile Scrum team.
You will focus on delivering high-quality bug fixes through robust product testing and advanced test automation.
The position combines hands-on testing, automation strategy, requirements analysis, and effective defect management.
You will work closely with developers, designers, client stakeholders, and testing specialists to ensure reliable and traceable solutions.
Your expertise will also help improve reusable automation assets and accelerate delivery across the project.
Working with Curam and Azure DevOps, you will play a direct role in strengthening product quality and delivery efficiency.
This is a remote contract opportunity for an experienced QA professional who enjoys solving complex problems in collaborative environments.
Accountabilities
Collaborate with an Agile Scrum team to test and deliver bug fixes for a social services transformation project.
Create, maintain, and execute comprehensive product test plans aligned with requirements and expected outcomes.
Design and implement automated test scripts using appropriate frameworks and tools to support repeatable and efficient testing.
Work directly with client resources to understand requirements, validate fixes, and support acceptance activities.
Partner with the testing Centre of Excellence and test automation team to improve reusable automation capabilities and accelerate delivery.
Use Azure DevOps for test planning, work management, execution tracking, defect reporting, and project coordination.
Collaborate closely with designers and developers to create traceable test plans, understand product design, and investigate and triage defects.
Apply advanced test automation strategies to improve coverage, reliability, and efficiency throughout the testing lifecycle.
Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes, automation practices, and overall product quality.
7+ years of professional experience with advanced expertise in test automation strategy and implementation.
2+ years of hands-on experience with Curam, with advanced knowledge of the platform.
Strong experience developing and maintaining automated test scripts using relevant automation frameworks and tools.
Familiarity with Azure DevOps for work management, test planning, execution, and bug tracking.
Solid understanding of Agile Scrum methodologies and software testing practices.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and defect-triage skills, with the ability to identify root causes and recommend effective solutions.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, client stakeholders, and testing specialists.
Ability to translate requirements into comprehensive, traceable, and effective testing strategies.
Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the confidence to work effectively across technical and non-technical groups.
Ability to work independently while remaining collaborative and accountable within a distributed team.
Successful candidates must hold or be able to obtain a Reliability Status security clearance from the Government of Canada.
CAD $60-$90 per hour compensation range.
Fully remote contract position within Canada.
