Jobgether is a Belgian recruitment platform built entirely around remote and flexible work, aggregating openings from thousands of employers that allow work from outside an office. Its matching engine ranks roles against a candidate's skills, seniority and stated preferences on location and flexibility, rather than leaving people to filter a keyword search, and it verifies how genuinely remote each posting is. The company also runs an AI screening layer that shortlists applicants for employers, and publishes research and guidance on distributed work practices alongside the job marketplace itself.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Database Administrator - Senior based in the United States.

This senior technical role will serve as the hands-on owner of Oracle database environments supporting a mission-critical federal financial system.

You will be responsible for keeping databases secure, performant, available, and fully recoverable across development, testing, training, disaster recovery, and production environments.

The role combines daily database administration with performance tuning, security hardening, backup and recovery, middleware management, and operational monitoring.

You will act as a key escalation point for complex production issues that could affect critical payment and financial operations.

The position also requires close adherence to federal security, change-control, service-level, and documentation requirements.

Although primarily remote, the role includes occasional onsite support in Washington, DC, and requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.

This is an opportunity to contribute to a high-impact federal modernization and financial operations environment while applying deep Oracle expertise to complex enterprise systems.

Accountabilities

    • Own the day-to-day administration, health, performance, security, and recoverability of Oracle database environments across the full system lifecycle.

    • Install, configure, harden, and maintain Oracle RDBMS environments, including tablespaces, security controls, data integrity, and database configuration.

    • Monitor and tune database performance, system availability, capacity, and resource utilization to meet operational and contractual requirements.

    • Administer Oracle middleware, including installation, application-process deployment, hardening, and SSL certificate management.

    • Execute secure backup, restore, instance-overlay, encryption, off-site transfer, and media-access-control processes aligned with recovery objectives.

    • Support continuity of operations and disaster recovery activities, including synchronization, recovery at primary or alternate facilities, and annual contingency-plan testing.

    • Manage database instances across Development, QA/Test, UAT, Training, COOP/DR, and Production environments in accordance with approved lifecycle and instance-management processes.

    • Monitor and manage business-critical nightly batch processing and investigate issues affecting availability or scheduled financial operations.

    • Apply federal security and compliance practices, including NIST SP 800-53 Rev. 5, FISMA, and DISA STIG requirements for database and middleware environments.

    • Operate within established SDLC and Change Control Board processes, preparing deployment plans and supporting controlled production migrations.

    • Serve as an escalation point for critical production database issues and resolve incidents within established service-level expectations.

    • Produce client-facing technical documentation and reporting, including monthly metrics, patch compliance reports, system status reports, technology inventories, and annual outage calendars.

    • Support enterprise integrations, APIs, financial applications, authentication solutions, and other database-dependent interfaces as required.

    • Identify opportunities to automate monitoring, health checks, operational tasks, and change migrations through scripting and other technical solutions.

    • Requirements

      • 9+ years of progressive database administration experience, including at least 6 years administering Oracle E-Business Suite in production environments.

      • Strong hands-on expertise with Oracle RDBMS installation, configuration, security hardening, tablespace management, data integrity, performance tuning, monitoring, and capacity planning.

      • Proven experience administering Oracle E-Business Suite middleware and related application processes, including SSL certificate management and security controls.

      • Strong knowledge of backup, restore, disaster recovery, COOP, secure data transfer, encryption, and recovery-point objectives.

      • Experience managing multi-environment enterprise database lifecycles across development, testing, UAT, training, DR, and production.

      • Working knowledge of federal cybersecurity and compliance frameworks, particularly NIST SP 800-53 Rev. 5, FISMA, and DISA STIGs.

      • Experience operating within formal SDLC, change-management, deployment, and production-control processes.

      • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with the judgment to respond effectively to high-impact production incidents.

      • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing technical reports, operational metrics, status documentation, and client deliverables.

      • Ability to work independently in a mission-critical environment while collaborating effectively with technical, operational, and client stakeholders.

      • Federal financial systems DBA experience, particularly within CFO Act agencies, is highly desirable.

      • Experience with Oracle Federal Financials and end-to-end processes covering Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Sub-Ledger Accounting, Budget Execution, Fixed Assets, Purchasing, Requisitions, Purchase Cards, and Procure-to-Pay is preferred.

      • Experience with Tungsten MarkView and Capture, Oracle Payables integrations, PIV-card single sign-on with Microsoft Azure, REST APIs, ReactJS interfaces, and complex federal financial system integrations is advantageous.

      • Familiarity with interfaces such as G-Invoicing, CARS, SPS, IPP, Data Act Broker, SAM, NFC, PMS, GrantSolutions, FPDS-NG, ETS2/Go.Gov, CIRA, Trust Fund, and Citibank Purchase Card systems is a plus.

      • Automation and scripting experience for monitoring, health checks, and deployment or change migration is preferred.

      • Experience with Storage Area Network monitoring, redundancy, and configuration is desirable.

      • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.

      • Ability to provide occasional onsite support in Washington, DC, as required.

      • Benefits

        • Annual salary range of $138,000-$151,000, with final compensation determined by experience, skills, education, training, location, and organizational requirements.

        • Comprehensive and generous benefits package.

        • Primarily remote work environment within the United States.

        • Opportunity to support a high-impact federal financial management program.

        • Work with complex Oracle E-Business Suite, database, middleware, cybersecurity, and disaster-recovery environments.

        • Opportunity to contribute to mission-critical systems supporting large-scale government financial operations.

        • Professional environment focused on collaboration, trust, career growth, and meaningful mission impact.

        • E-Verify employer.
