This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Desenvolvedor Backend - Sênior based in Brazil.

This is an opportunity for a senior backend engineer to build and evolve high-impact technology solutions used by thousands of people across Brazil.

You will work primarily with Java and Spring Boot, developing scalable services and robust integrations in a modern engineering environment.

The role combines API development, microservices architecture, database management, automated testing, and domain-driven design.

You will contribute to technical decisions while applying solid software engineering principles and proven design patterns.

Accountabilities

• Develop and maintain backend solutions using Java 11 through Java 21, ensuring code quality, scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• Build and evolve applications and services using Spring Boot.
• Design and implement REST APIs, including API documentation with Swagger, as well as integrations and SOAP clients.
• Develop and maintain solutions using Oracle and MySQL databases.
• Create and maintain automated tests using JUnit, Mockito, TDD, and other appropriate testing approaches.
• Apply object-oriented programming principles and Domain-Driven Design (DDD) to create robust and maintainable solutions.
• Design and implement microservices using appropriate architectural patterns, including Circuit Breaker, API Gateway, and Backend for Frontend (BFF).
• Apply SOLID principles and established software design patterns throughout development.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and contribute to a collaborative squad culture.
• Take ownership of product outcomes while collaborating closely with peers and other business and technical areas.
• Contribute to Pair Programming and XP practices to promote knowledge sharing and engineering excellence.
• Support a DevOps culture, identifying opportunities for automation and contributing to CI/CD improvements.
• Collaborate with technical and product stakeholders to solve problems and continuously improve software delivery.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software development experience, with strong expertise in backend engineering.
• Advanced proficiency in Java 11-21 and Spring Boot.
• Strong experience developing REST APIs, working with Swagger, and creating SOAP clients.
• Solid experience with relational databases, particularly Oracle and MySQL.
• Hands-on experience with JUnit, Mockito, automated testing, and TDD.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
• Experience with microservices architecture and patterns such as Circuit Breaker, API Gateway, and Backend for Frontend.
• Strong knowledge of SOLID principles and software design patterns.
• Familiarity with containers and cloud environments, particularly AWS, is desirable.
• Knowledge of Apache web servers and multi-threaded programming is a plus.
• Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ is desirable.
• Experience working within Agile/Squad environments, actively participating in ceremonies and collaborating across teams.
• Familiarity with Pair Programming and XP practices.
• Understanding of DevOps, automation, and CI/CD principles.
