This role is designed for an experienced backend engineer who will build, evolve, and maintain high-performance software solutions using Java and modern development practices. You will contribute to scalable, secure, and innovative applications while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across technology and business areas. The position combines strong software engineering expertise with opportunities to work on artificial intelligence initiatives, including the development and integration of intelligent agents. You will apply architectural thinking, automation, and AI-powered tools to improve productivity, quality, and innovation. Accountabilities:
The role focuses on developing robust backend solutions, supporting software modernization, and contributing to innovative AI-driven initiatives while maintaining high standards of quality, scalability, and reliability.
- Develop, maintain, and evolve backend services using Java, ensuring performance, security, scalability, and reliability.
- Support the creation, evolution, and integration of AI agents within existing backend ecosystems.
- Develop APIs, services, and integrations that enable intelligent solutions and business capabilities.
- Use generative AI tools such as Cursor, Claude Opus, Copilot, or similar technologies to accelerate development, improve code quality, support refactoring, analyze legacy systems, and enhance technical documentation.
- Contribute to software architecture decisions, including solutions involving artificial intelligence and intelligent workflows.
- Apply software engineering best practices, including Clean Code, SOLID principles, and Design Patterns.
- Ensure code quality through technical reviews, automated testing, and engineering standards.
- Perform reverse engineering of legacy systems to support modernization initiatives and new solution development.
- Monitor, analyze, and optimize application performance.
- Collaborate with Product, Architecture, DevOps, and other teams to align technical solutions with business objectives.
- Create and maintain clear technical documentation.
- Act as a technical reference for junior and intermediate developers, encouraging knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
- Evaluate and adopt new technologies and AI-based tools that improve development efficiency and solution quality.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate has strong backend development experience, advanced Java knowledge, and the ability to contribute to modern software architectures while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Solid experience in backend development using Java.
- Experience designing and developing REST and/or GraphQL APIs.
- Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes environments.
- Experience working with cloud computing solutions, especially AWS.
- Experience with agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
- Practical experience or familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude Opus, Copilot, or similar solutions.
- Interest or experience in contributing to the development of AI agents and intelligent backend solutions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in complex technical environments.
Nice-to-have qualifications:
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog, Dynatrace, Splunk, or Grafana.
- Relevant technical certifications in AWS, Kubernetes, Java, or related technologies.
- Experience with technology innovation projects and digital transformation initiatives.
- Experience applying generative AI throughout the software development lifecycle, including code review, refactoring, testing, documentation, architecture, and intelligent automation.
- Advanced English skills, with the ability to participate in technical meetings, read and create documentation, and collaborate with international stakeholders.
