DevOps Automation Platform Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a DevOps Automation Platform Engineer based in India.

This is a senior platform engineering opportunity focused on strengthening DevOps processes, automation infrastructure, and network automation capabilities within a global technology environment. You’ll help shape the organization’s DevOps and AI journey while owning foundational tooling and engineering standards. The role combines hands-on work across CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, automation, containerization, and release management. You’ll also contribute to defining secure and scalable approaches for AI-assisted automation and infrastructure deployment. Working across engineering, systems, NOC, security, risk, and business teams, you’ll help translate requirements into reliable technical solutions. The position is well suited to an experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, improving platforms, and driving automation at scale.

Accountabilities:

• Help shape and advance DevOps automation and AI-enabled engineering initiatives across the organization.
• Own and evolve the GitLab foundation, including repository standards, pipeline configuration, deployment practices, and governance.
• Design, build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to improve development and deployment efficiency.
• Standardize and coordinate unit, integration, and security testing throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
• Plan, coordinate, communicate, and monitor application releases, updates, and deployment activities.
• Maintain the health, stability, and performance of automation and orchestration applications, plugins, pipelines, and functions.
• Define and document infrastructure and environment requirements across cloud, virtualized, and physical deployment models.
• Establish patterns, policies, and standards for the safe implementation and deployment of AI-assisted automation.
• Partner with Security and Risk teams to continuously assess and strengthen the organization’s security posture.
• Collaborate with global systems, NOC, engineering, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and coordinate deployments.
• Contribute to platform management plans, automation standards, and continuous improvements across the DevOps environment.

Requirements:

• 10-15 years of professional IT experience, ideally with significant exposure to DevOps, platform engineering, software engineering, or network automation.
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), CI/CD pipelines, release management, and modern engineering practices.
• Hands-on experience with software and network automation, infrastructure management, and platform engineering.
• Strong Python development and automation skills.
• Practical experience with AWS and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with Ansible and Terraform for configuration and infrastructure automation.
• Knowledge of Jinja and Django or comparable templating and application frameworks.
• Strong understanding of Docker and containerization technologies.
• Experience with monitoring platforms; familiarity with Netreo is an advantage.
• Knowledge of network management platforms such as Nautobot or NetBox is a plus.
• Network engineering experience is desirable, particularly in environments involving automated infrastructure and orchestration.
• Experience working with geographically distributed or international teams is advantageous.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to translate technical requirements into practical solutions.
• A proactive, collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for automation, emerging technologies, and continuous improvement.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• DevOps certification, particularly AWS or Azure, is desirable.
