Jobgether is a Belgian recruitment platform built entirely around remote and flexible work, aggregating openings from thousands of employers that allow work from outside an office. Its matching engine ranks roles against a candidate's skills, seniority and stated preferences on location and flexibility, rather than leaving people to filter a keyword search, and it verifies how genuinely remote each posting is. The company also runs an AI screening layer that shortlists applicants for employers, and publishes research and guidance on distributed work practices alongside the job marketplace itself.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Technical Business Operations based in Canada.

This is a senior business-facing leadership role responsible for strengthening operational governance across Retirement & Wealth functions. You will oversee programs spanning risk and compliance, third-party management, business continuity, operational resilience, and records management. The role connects business, technology, operations, risk, and compliance teams to ensure programs are consistently executed and aligned with enterprise standards. You will provide leadership visibility through clear reporting, metrics, governance frameworks, and proactive risk management. The position combines strategic execution with operational discipline, requiring strong judgment and the ability to influence across a complex, highly matrixed organization. You will also have opportunities to simplify processes, strengthen controls, and enable sustainable business growth.

Accountabilities:

    • Lead operational governance programs across Retirement & Wealth, advising senior leaders on risk, compliance, resilience, technology, data, records, and third-party requirements while ensuring alignment with enterprise standards.
    • Maintain governance frameworks, procedures, controls, documentation, and annual roadmaps, ensuring programs remain current, effective, and appropriately documented.
    • Coordinate governance reviews, attestations, evidence collection, control testing, remediation activities, audit responses, and regulatory deliverables, ensuring commitments are completed accurately and on time.
    • Track program performance, risks, milestones, and overdue actions, escalating issues appropriately and driving accountability across stakeholders.
    • Lead the execution of Third-Party Risk Management and Vendor Management programs, including assessments, attestations, trigger-event reviews, issue management, reporting, and ongoing oversight.
    • Partner with business, finance, technology, procurement, risk, and compliance teams to strengthen vendor governance and meet applicable regulatory and operational requirements.
    • Coordinate business continuity planning, resilience testing, recovery exercises, and plan maintenance across supported business functions.
    • Oversee governance for End User Computing Solutions, Process Criticality and Impact Risk Assessments, and other operational risk programs, ensuring required ownership, reviews, approvals, testing, records, and evidence are maintained.
    • Lead records inventory reviews and promote effective information classification, retention, and lifecycle management across relevant functions.
    • Develop executive-level dashboards, reporting, and performance metrics that provide transparency into risks, commitments, milestones, and program health while supporting informed decision-making.
    • Maintain program repositories, procedures, templates, training materials, and stakeholder communications to promote consistent execution and organizational awareness.
    • Identify opportunities to simplify and automate governance processes, improve operating effectiveness, and support business onboarding, education, and continuous improvement.
    • Requirements

      • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant business experience, with 8+ years of experience in business operations, operational risk, governance, compliance, technology operations, vendor management, business continuity, or a related discipline.
      • Strong knowledge of operational risk, controls, governance frameworks, and regulatory expectations, with the ability to translate requirements into practical operating processes.
      • Proven experience leading complex, cross-functional programs and delivering outcomes through influence rather than direct authority in highly matrixed organizations.
      • Strong program management, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities effectively.
      • Demonstrated experience designing governance processes, performance metrics, reporting frameworks, controls, and documentation that improve accountability and leadership visibility.
      • Strong executive communication and stakeholder management capabilities, with the ability to build trusted relationships and communicate complex risks and operational matters clearly.
      • Sound judgment, ownership, and accountability, combined with a proactive approach to risk management, continuous improvement, and business enablement.
      • Financial services experience is preferred, particularly within retirement, wealth management, asset management, insurance, or banking environments.
      • Knowledge of third-party risk management, operational resilience, business continuity, data analytics, records management, audits, and regulatory examinations is an advantage.
      • Experience with governance and risk platforms such as Archer, Fusion, Ivalua, Process Unity, or SharePoint is considered a plus.
      • Benefits

        • Full-time remote position available to candidates in Ontario, Alberta, Nova Scotia, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan.
        • Expected salary range of CAD $118,300-$168,300, with eligibility for incentive compensation tied to individual and business performance.
        • Customizable health and wellness benefits, including health, dental, mental health, and vision coverage.
        • Short- and long-term disability, life insurance, and AD&D coverage.
        • Adoption and surrogacy benefits, wellness programs, and employee and family assistance resources.
        • Access to retirement savings programs, including pension options and a global share ownership plan with employer matching contributions.
        • Financial education and counseling resources to support long-term financial well-being.
        • Generous paid time off, including vacation, personal and sick days, statutory holidays, and applicable leaves of absence.
        • A flexible, remote working environment designed to support employee well-being, inclusion, and sustainable career development.
        • Opportunities to learn, grow, and shape your career within a global organization and a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment.
