Jobgether is a Belgian recruitment platform built entirely around remote and flexible work, aggregating openings from thousands of employers that allow work from outside an office. Its matching engine ranks roles against a candidate's skills, seniority and stated preferences on location and flexibility, rather than leaving people to filter a keyword search, and it verifies how genuinely remote each posting is. The company also runs an AI screening layer that shortlists applicants for employers, and publishes research and guidance on distributed work practices alongside the job marketplace itself.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Electrical Engineer based in United States.

This role leads electrical engineering projects for large-scale wood products manufacturing facilities, from initial feasibility through design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and optimization. You will own project scope, budgets, schedules, and safe execution while providing technical leadership across complex industrial environments. The position combines hands-on electrical engineering expertise with project management, contractor oversight, and multidisciplinary coordination. You will design and oversee 480VAC power distribution systems, motor controls, grounding, safety systems, and related infrastructure. You will also guide designers and consultants and ensure electrical standards and best practices are incorporated into construction documentation. This is a high-impact opportunity for an experienced engineer comfortable managing multi-million-dollar capital projects and traveling to manufacturing locations.

Accountabilities:

    • Manage engineering projects throughout the full lifecycle, including feasibility studies, detailed design, procurement, construction, start-up, commissioning, and post-startup optimization.
    • Develop and manage project scope, budgets, schedules, resources, and safe execution plans for capital projects supporting wood products manufacturing.
    • Provide independent technical leadership on electrical engineering matters and serve as a technical and supervisory resource for project teams.
    • Define roles and responsibilities and direct project team members, contractors, consultants, designers, and other stakeholders.
    • Design and oversee 480V power distribution systems, including secondary 480VAC transformers, motors, motor control centers, utility panels, feeders, variable frequency drives, starters, and related control components.
    • Develop motor lists, MCC arrangements, VFD and brake resistor sizing, safety relay and LOTO architectures, field I/O configurations, grounding systems, and local disconnect designs.
    • Direct designers and consultants in developing detailed electrical drawings, cable and conduit schedules, field configurations, routing, and electrical room layouts.
    • Establish electrical system architecture, engineering best practices, and workmanship standards and ensure these requirements are accurately reflected in construction drawings.
    • Perform electrical system modeling and analysis using EasyPower, including arc flash, protection, and coordination studies for large industrial facilities.
    • Support or oversee the installation and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems, ensuring projects meet technical, safety, schedule, and quality objectives.
    • Coordinate with diverse customers, stakeholders, contractors, consultants, and teams across different organizational and cultural environments.
    • Ensure projects comply with applicable regulations, industry standards, electrical codes, NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, and relevant property loss prevention recommendations.
    • Manage the full spectrum of project activities while applying advanced project management systems and techniques.
    • Travel approximately 30% annually to manufacturing locations to support project execution.
    • Requirements:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required; a Master’s degree is desirable.
      • 7-10 years of progressive experience designing and managing multi-million-dollar industrial capital projects is preferred, particularly within wood products manufacturing or a comparable heavy industrial environment.
      • Strong experience designing 480V power distribution systems and electrical infrastructure connecting transformers, motors, MCCs, utility panels, feeders, and related equipment.
      • Demonstrated expertise in motor control systems, VFDs, starters, MCC configurations, safety relays, LOTO architecture, field I/O, grounding, and local disconnects.
      • Experience directing electrical designers and consultants in the development of construction drawings, cable and conduit schedules, routing plans, and electrical room layouts.
      • Strong experience with electrical system modeling, arc flash analysis, and protection and coordination studies using EasyPower or comparable tools.
      • Experience with installation and commissioning of electrical systems and hardware in large industrial facilities.
      • Experience managing large-scale project installations, ideally projects exceeding $4 million in value, including electrical contractor activities.
      • Advanced understanding of project management methodologies, systems, and techniques.
      • Knowledge of governmental regulations, industry standards, and applicable electrical codes, particularly NFPA 70 (NEC), NFPA 70E, and Factory Mutual recommendations.
      • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, and EasyPower.
      • Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to build productive relationships across diverse teams and cultures.
      • Ability to work independently on complex technical matters while effectively coordinating multidisciplinary project teams.
      • Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
      • Working knowledge of Allen-Bradley ControlLogix is preferred.
      • Ability to travel approximately 30% annually to manufacturing facilities.
      • Ability to walk, kneel, climb ladders and stairs, and work in environments with extreme temperatures.
      • Benefits:

        • Annual salary of $130,000-$170,000.
        • Medical and prescription drug coverage.
        • Dental and vision insurance.
        • Healthcare and dependent care Flexible Spending Accounts.
        • 401(k) retirement savings plan with company contribution.
        • 20 days of paid time off per year.
        • 10 paid holidays annually.
        • 6 weeks of paid parental leave.
        • Life insurance.
        • Full-time position with remote/hybrid work arrangements.
        • Approximately 30% annual travel to manufacturing locations.
