Jobgether is a Belgian recruitment platform built entirely around remote and flexible work, aggregating openings from thousands of employers that allow work from outside an office. Its matching engine ranks roles against a candidate's skills, seniority and stated preferences on location and flexibility, rather than leaving people to filter a keyword search, and it verifies how genuinely remote each posting is. The company also runs an AI screening layer that shortlists applicants for employers, and publishes research and guidance on distributed work practices alongside the job marketplace itself.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Field Support Specialist based in the United States.

This is a hands-on technical role supporting the successful installation, startup, and operation of lighting control systems.

You will work directly in the field, troubleshooting systems and providing end-user training to ensure reliable performance.

The role combines technical expertise, customer service, and project coordination in a highly mobile environment.

You will interpret lighting plans, floor plans, and project specifications to identify issues and ensure installations meet requirements.

As a trusted technical resource, you will support internal teams, customers, contractors, and other stakeholders on complex field applications.

The position offers significant autonomy and exposure to diverse projects, with approximately 90% travel from Monday through Friday.

Candidates ideally located in Texas will support projects primarily across Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, and surrounding areas.

Accountabilities:

    • Perform onsite startup, troubleshooting, commissioning, and end-user training for lighting control systems, representing approximately 55% of the role.
    • Provide expert technical support to internal and external customers regarding field applications, product functionality, installation issues, and system performance.
    • Read and interpret lighting plans, floor plans, drawings, and specifications to verify installations and identify discrepancies requiring corrective action.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, contractors, project stakeholders, and internal teams to deliver differentiated technical service.
    • Support complex projects by investigating field issues, coordinating solutions, and helping drive projects through successful completion.
    • Provide engineering and technical support while communicating effectively with cross-functional departments.
    • Document field activities, troubleshooting outcomes, and relevant technical information using standard computer applications.
    • Deliver clear, professional training and guidance to end users so they can confidently operate and maintain installed systems.
    • Travel extensively to customer and project locations, primarily Monday through Friday, with weekends generally spent at home.
    • Requirements

      • Associate's degree, technical degree, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
      • 1-2 years of relevant technical experience, with 2-4 years preferred in problem-solving, customer-facing, field service, or hands-on technical roles.
      • Ability to read and interpret technical plans, lighting plans, drawings, and project specifications.
      • Working knowledge of basic electrical components, including relays, drivers, ballasts, and related equipment.
      • General computer proficiency, including email, spreadsheets, word processing, data entry, and other standard business applications.
      • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to customers and non-technical stakeholders.
      • Understanding of lighting control systems is preferred, along with an interest in developing deeper expertise in lighting technology.
      • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills with a practical, hands-on approach.
      • Ability to work independently in the field while collaborating effectively with internal teams, customers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
      • Willingness and ability to meet a travel requirement of approximately 90%.
      • Candidates ideally reside in Texas, given the primary territory covering Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, and surrounding areas.
      • Benefits

        • Competitive salary range of $48,100-$80,000 USD, with placement based on experience and geographic location.
        • Healthcare coverage, including medical, dental, and vision plans.
        • 401(k) benefits.
        • Potential commissions and/or incentive compensation depending on the role.
        • Remote-based work structure with approximately 90% travel during the Monday-Friday workweek.
        • Weekends generally spent at home.
        • Opportunity to develop specialized expertise in lighting controls, field applications, troubleshooting, and technical customer support.
        • Exposure to diverse projects and opportunities to collaborate with customers and cross-functional technical teams.
        • Inclusive workplace committed to equal employment opportunities and reasonable accommodations.
