Accountabilities:
The Full Stack Software Engineer (Tech Lead) will provide technical leadership while remaining deeply involved in software development, architecture, and delivery. This role requires strong ownership of engineering decisions, the ability to guide teams effectively, and a passion for building secure, scalable applications.
- Lead and mentor a team of software engineers by providing technical guidance, conducting code reviews, and establishing engineering best practices.
- Drive full-stack architecture decisions across API design, data models, application structure, and user experience components.
- Lead AI-enabled development practices by establishing guardrails, validation processes, testing frameworks, and systems that ensure reliable AI-assisted engineering output.
- Translate product and design requirements into clear technical plans, actionable engineering tasks, and efficient delivery strategies.
- Build responsive and intuitive frontend experiences using React, TypeScript, modern component libraries, HTML, and CSS.
- Develop secure backend services using Node.js, Express.js, REST APIs, Prisma ORM, and relational database technologies.
- Collaborate with product owners, designers, DevSecOps teams, and operational stakeholders to deliver secure and scalable features.
- Promote rapid prototyping while maintaining production-quality engineering standards and reliable delivery processes.
- Implement and improve automated testing practices, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Troubleshoot technical issues, optimize application performance, and support secure deployment environments.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate is an experienced full-stack engineer with a strong technical foundation, proven leadership abilities, and experience delivering complex software solutions. The role requires a balance of architectural thinking, hands-on development skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- 8+ years of relevant software engineering experience, including experience leading engineering teams.
- Demonstrated ownership of full-stack software development from infrastructure and backend services to frontend user experiences.
- Experience leading AI-enabled engineering teams, including creating validation processes, testing strategies, and operational safeguards.
- Strong frontend expertise with React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, responsive design principles, and modern UI development practices.
- Strong backend experience with Node.js, Express.js, Prisma ORM, relational databases, SQL optimization, indexing, and API architecture.
- Deep understanding of software architecture, system design, REST APIs, asynchronous workflows, and event-driven patterns.
- Experience with automated testing tools such as Jest, Vitest, React Testing Library, Playwright, or Cypress.
- Ability to translate business and product requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Familiarity with secure software development practices, CI/CD pipelines, and modern development workflows.
- Experience working in Agile or Lean environments with rapid iteration cycles.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance; active Secret or TS clearance preferred.
- Experience with secure government environments, defense technology, geospatial applications, cloud platforms, or relevant certifications is a plus.
