Hardware ServiceNow Architect

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Hardware ServiceNow Architect based in United States.

This is a senior architecture role focused on shaping and delivering enterprise Hardware Asset Management (HAM) capabilities within the ServiceNow platform.

You will support a large-scale Department of the Air Force Enterprise IT as a Service environment and own the architectural direction for hardware asset management.

The role covers the full hardware lifecycle, from planning and procurement through deployment, maintenance, refresh, and disposal.

You will optimize the CMDB, strengthen data integrity, and design integrations with enterprise systems and discovery tools.

The position combines hands-on ServiceNow expertise with strategic architecture, governance, financial visibility, and operational optimization.

You will work closely with technical teams and business stakeholders across IT, Procurement, Finance, Operations, and Compliance.

Accountabilities:

• HAM Architecture & Strategy: Define the long-term architectural vision, strategy, and roadmap for Hardware Asset Management within ServiceNow, aligning solutions with enterprise architecture and business objectives.
• Hardware Lifecycle Architecture: Lead the design of scalable, secure HAM solutions covering planning, procurement, receiving, inventory, deployment, assignment, usage, maintenance, refresh, and disposal.
• Business Requirements & Technical Design: Translate complex requirements from Finance, Procurement, Operations, and IT into detailed architectural designs, technical specifications, and implementation strategies.
• ServiceNow HAM & CMDB: Serve as the lead architect and subject matter expert for the ServiceNow HAM module, while architecting the CMDB for hardware assets with strong data models, relationships, normalization, reconciliation, and discovery strategies.
• Workflow Automation: Design and implement automated HAM workflows using Service Catalog, Flow Designer, and custom applications to support asset requests, procurement approvals, stockroom management, asset assignment, refresh, and disposal.
• Integrations & Data Quality: Architect and oversee integrations between ServiceNow HAM, enterprise applications, network discovery tools, and other inventory systems while establishing data quality, governance, and reconciliation processes.
• Financial & Operational Optimization: Design capabilities for tracking hardware costs, depreciation, leases, contracts, and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), while automating financial processes and improving reporting and visibility.
• Asset Utilization & Lifecycle Planning: Develop strategies for hardware utilization tracking, lifecycle optimization, proactive refresh planning, and improved asset efficiency.
• Architecture Governance: Establish architectural standards, technical best practices, and governance policies for HAM implementation and hardware asset data management.
• Technical Leadership: Provide guidance, mentorship, and architectural oversight to ServiceNow developers, administrators, and implementation partners, and lead technical design reviews.
• Stakeholder Engagement & Innovation: Collaborate with Procurement, Operations, IT, Compliance, and other stakeholders to build consensus, drive adoption, and identify innovative opportunities based on evolving ServiceNow capabilities and industry trends.

Requirements

• Experience: 15+ years of relevant professional experience. A Bachelor’s Degree in an applicable field may substitute for 5 years of experience. Candidates should have at least 10 years of progressive IT experience, including 5+ years working in a ServiceNow Architect role.
• ServiceNow HAM Expertise: Deep, demonstrable expertise with the ServiceNow Hardware Asset Management (HAM) module, including architecture, configuration, implementation, and optimization.
• CMDB & Discovery: Extensive hands-on and architectural experience with ServiceNow CMDB and Discovery, specifically applied to hardware assets, including data modeling, normalization, reconciliation, relationships, and discovery.
• Integration Architecture: Proven experience designing and implementing complex integrations between ServiceNow HAM and enterprise systems, inventory platforms, and discovery technologies.
• Hardware Asset Lifecycle: Comprehensive understanding of the hardware asset lifecycle from strategic planning and procurement through deployment, maintenance, refresh, and disposal.
• ServiceNow Platform: Strong proficiency with ServiceNow capabilities including Flow Designer, Service Portal, Custom Application Development, JavaScript scripting, and platform best practices.
• ITIL & Asset Management: Strong understanding of ITIL principles and their practical application to hardware and asset management.
• Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to transform complex business challenges into effective technical solutions.
• Communication & Leadership: Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical audiences at all organizational levels.
• Security Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
• Preferred Certifications: ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist - Hardware Asset Management (CIS-HAM) is highly advantageous. ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) and other relevant CIS certifications, such as CMDB or ITSM, are also valued.
• Additional Technical Experience: Experience with ServiceNow Software Asset Management (SAM), mobile asset management solutions, and hardware dependencies or licensing compliance is a plus.
• Asset Management Standards: Knowledge of industry asset management standards such as ISO 55000 is desirable.
• Financial Knowledge: Familiarity with asset-management financial concepts, including depreciation, amortization, and lease accounting, is beneficial.
• Government Experience: Experience working in government contracting environments is preferred.

• Compensation: Proposed national salary range of $114,600-$252,100, with final compensation influenced by geographic location, applicable federal contract labor categories and wage rates, prior experience, skills, education, and certifications.
