This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Head of Business Development - Logos based in United Kingdom.
This is a senior business development leadership opportunity focused on growing a decentralized technology ecosystem from pre-mainnet preparation through post-launch adoption.
You will shape partnership strategy, identify high-value ecosystem opportunities, and build relationships that translate into meaningful integrations, usage, and network growth.
The role sits at the intersection of Web3 infrastructure, privacy-focused protocols, decentralized systems, and ecosystem development.
You will work closely with protocol, engineering, product, ecosystem, and communications teams to turn technical capabilities into compelling partner propositions.
A key part of the role is engaging credibly with founders, protocol teams, engineers, and other technical decision-makers without needing technology translated for you.
You will also lead and develop a small BD team while remaining highly hands-on with strategically important relationships and opportunities.
The environment is autonomous, remote, technically sophisticated, and well suited to a builder who understands how Web3 partnerships move from initial conversations to real-world implementation.
Accountabilities
- Develop and execute the business development and partnership strategy, building strategic relationships ahead of mainnet and expanding distribution, adoption, and ecosystem activity after launch.
- Identify protocols, infrastructure providers, applications, and ecosystems where decentralized and privacy-focused technology can create meaningful value, users, and network activity.
- Build a focused pipeline of high-value opportunities and prioritize partnerships based on strategic impact rather than partnership volume.
- Establish clear priorities, success metrics, budgets, and performance expectations for business development activities.
- Own opportunities end to end, from initial identification and technical evaluation through negotiation, integration, launch, and ongoing relationship management.
- Build strategic relationships across the Web3 infrastructure ecosystem, including wallets, centralized exchanges, on/off-ramps, oracles, indexers, DeFi protocols, aggregators, multisig solutions, and other infrastructure providers.
- Develop technically meaningful integrations, deployments, ecosystem partnerships, and adoption opportunities, with particular attention to privacy-focused ecosystems.
- Understand prospective partners' technical architectures and identify how privacy capabilities and decentralized infrastructure can complement their technology stacks.
- Work closely with technical teams on both sides to move partnership opportunities from initial discussions through implementation and measurable outcomes.
- Represent the organization credibly with founders, protocol leads, ecosystem teams, engineering leaders, and other technical decision-makers.
- Maintain sufficient technical understanding of Layer 1 and Layer 2 networks, modular blockchain architectures, peer-to-peer networking, nodes, validators, consensus, distributed systems, decentralized storage and messaging, blockchain infrastructure, wallets, token models, testnets, mainnets, and privacy technologies.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of two business development contributors while providing clear direction, prioritization, accountability, and support on complex partnerships and negotiations.
- Maintain a disciplined approach to pipeline management, ownership, follow-through, and prioritization without introducing unnecessary bureaucracy.
- Remain personally involved in strategically important partnerships and high-impact opportunities.
- Partner cross-functionally with protocol, engineering, product, ecosystem, and communications teams to align commercial opportunities with technical and ecosystem priorities.
- Bring market and partner feedback into internal planning to help inform product, ecosystem, and integration priorities.
- Translate technical capabilities into clear propositions tailored to different partners, use cases, and market opportunities.
- Help technical teams understand the commercial and strategic context behind potential integrations and ensure partnerships generate tangible outcomes rather than announcements alone.
- Significant professional experience in Web3, blockchain, decentralized infrastructure, or a closely related technology ecosystem.
- Strong understanding of blockchain network architecture and Web3 infrastructure, with the ability to engage in substantive technical discussions with protocol and engineering teams.
- Demonstrated experience in business development, ecosystem development, strategic partnerships, or a closely related function.
- Proven track record of building partnerships that resulted in real integrations, adoption, users, network activity, revenue, or other measurable outcomes.
- An established network of relationships across the Web3 infrastructure ecosystem.
- Direct experience working with or launching privacy-focused protocols, decentralized networks, or related ecosystems is highly valuable.
- Experience with at least one privacy-focused ecosystem, such as privacy-oriented Layer 1 or Layer 2 networks, decentralized messaging or storage projects, privacy applications, wallets, or other privacy infrastructure.
- Experience working with open-source protocols is required.
- Demonstrated understanding of concepts including Layer 1 and Layer 2 architectures, modular blockchains, peer-to-peer networking, nodes and validators, consensus and distributed systems, decentralized storage and messaging, RPC and blockchain infrastructure, wallets, network incentives, testnets, mainnets, and privacy-preserving or censorship-resistant technologies.
- Ability to understand technical architectures and communicate effectively with founders, protocol teams, engineering leaders, and other highly technical stakeholders without relying on technical intermediaries.
- Strong commercial judgment, with the ability to distinguish strategically valuable opportunities from low-value partnership activity.
- Experience managing, mentoring, or developing a small team.
- Strong negotiation, relationship-building, communication, prioritization, and stakeholder management skills.
- Comfortable operating autonomously in a highly technical, distributed, and remote environment.
- A builder mentality, with the ability to take opportunities from an initial idea through execution, integration, and measurable results.
- Genuine technical curiosity and the ability to understand complex decentralized technologies without necessarily writing production code.
- Compensation is negotiable based on demonstrated skills and experience throughout the interview process.
- Flexibility to receive compensation in a combination of fiat currency and cryptocurrency.
- Remote work environment with the opportunity to collaborate with a globally distributed Web3 ecosystem.
- High-impact ownership of business development, strategic partnerships, and ecosystem growth.
- Opportunity to work at the intersection of decentralized infrastructure, privacy technology, blockchain protocols, and open-source ecosystems.
- Leadership responsibility for a small business development team combined with significant individual ownership of strategic opportunities.
- Direct exposure to protocol founders, infrastructure providers, engineering teams, and other senior Web3 stakeholders.
- Opportunity to contribute to ecosystem growth from pre-mainnet partnership development through post-mainnet adoption and network expansion.
- Broad cross-functional collaboration across protocol, engineering, product, ecosystem, and communications functions.
