This role offers the opportunity to build and shape a modern legal operations function from the ground up within a fast-growing technology environment.
You will serve as the operational engine behind legal workflows, creating systems and processes that allow a lean legal team to operate efficiently at scale.
The position combines contract operations, compliance support, legal technology, vendor management and cross-functional collaboration.
You will work closely with finance, sales, product, engineering, human resources and security teams to keep critical legal workflows moving.
A strong focus on automation and Artificial Intelligence (AI) will enable you to eliminate repetitive work and create smarter, more scalable processes.
You will have substantial autonomy to turn ambiguous challenges into practical solutions while maintaining high standards for accuracy and confidentiality.

Accountabilities
- Build and maintain contract management, legal operations and compliance systems that support an efficient and scalable legal function.
- Own the legal technology stack, including Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM), electronic billing and matter management platforms, from tool selection through implementation and ongoing optimization.
- Design and manage contract intake and routing processes from initial request through execution and signature.
- Identify operational gaps and take ownership of creative or complex projects that require reliable end-to-end execution.
- Support legal research, regulatory monitoring and special projects as needed.
- Partner with finance, sales, product, engineering, human resources and security teams to ensure legal workflows are efficient and well coordinated.
- Manage relationships with external legal counsel and vendors, including billing, budgets and engagement terms.
- Identify repetitive or inefficient activities and standardize, automate or eliminate them using technology and AI.
- Track legal spend, contract volumes, turnaround times and other operational metrics, providing clear visibility into the performance of the legal function.
- Develop repeatable systems and processes that improve efficiency while allowing the legal team to scale without unnecessary complexity.
- Take on increasing levels of ownership and responsibility as the legal operations function and business continue to grow.
- Demonstrated experience in legal operations, contracts, compliance, business operations, consulting, technology, professional services or another complex operational environment.
- Proven ability to process and evaluate significant volumes of AI-generated output while applying strong judgment and ensuring accurate, high-quality results.
- Track record of independently driving projects from ambiguous requirements through successful completion.
- Experience building, redesigning or significantly improving operational processes rather than simply maintaining established workflows.
- Ability to translate vague or complex requests into practical, repeatable systems and processes.
- Exceptional organizational skills, strong follow-through and the ability to close loops without constant supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with lawyers, sales teams, finance professionals, executives and other stakeholders.
- Strong judgment, discretion and professionalism when handling confidential or sensitive information.
- Ability to learn and adopt new technologies and systems quickly.
- Strong intellectual curiosity about how legal, business and technology decisions interact.
- Advanced proficiency with AI tools and a demonstrated ability to use AI proactively to improve productivity, workflows and decision-making.
- High degree of initiative, independence, ownership and accountability.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities and a high level of urgency.
- Law degree is not required, and candidates may come from a variety of professional or educational backgrounds.
- A degree or relevant professional background in law, business, finance, technology, operations or a related field may be beneficial but is not mandatory.
- Experience in a high-growth technology or startup environment is advantageous.
- Competitive salary of $140,000-$160,000 USD annually, with compensation adjusted based on location and cost of living.
