As a Management & Technology Consulting Operations Manager, you will play a hands-on role in strengthening and scaling internal business operations within a fast-moving consulting environment. You will partner closely with Operations and IT leadership to improve processes, systems, reporting, security, and technology initiatives. The role spans strategy and execution, giving you the opportunity to identify inefficiencies and personally drive solutions from concept through implementation. You will lead cross-functional projects, manage vendors and technology lifecycles, and support governance and risk initiatives. You will also explore AI and agentic workflows to automate manual processes and improve operational efficiency. Accountabilities:
- Own and continuously improve internal business processes, operational workflows, cross-team handoffs, reporting cadences, resource planning, and other activities that support efficient consulting operations.
- Identify operational bottlenecks and inefficiencies, develop practical recommendations, and drive improvements through implementation and completion.
- Support budget tracking, operational reporting, and management visibility into business performance, resourcing, and key initiatives.
- Lead project plans, timelines, status reporting, and cross-functional dependencies for Operations and IT initiatives, proactively keeping leadership informed of progress, risks, and decisions.
- Coordinate internal stakeholders and external vendors, including security testing providers and technology partners, to ensure initiatives remain on schedule and within budget.
- Manage the annual and ongoing penetration testing cycle, including scoping, vendor coordination, findings, and remediation tracking.
- Support the development and implementation of data retention and governance policies across core business platforms, balancing compliance, cost, security, and usability.
- Build and refine AI-assisted and agentic workflows using emerging technologies to automate operational and IT activities and reduce manual effort.
- Administer, configure, and optimize core enterprise platforms, identifying configuration issues, access gaps, unused licenses, and opportunities for improved system utilization.
- Manage the software and vendor renewal lifecycle, maintaining a proactive calendar for contract reviews, negotiations, evaluations, and renewal decisions.
- Lead structured product and technology evaluations, including requirements gathering, vendor comparisons, cost-benefit analysis, and rollout recommendations.
- Support internal system audits and annual IT policy updates, coordinating stakeholders, documenting findings, closing control gaps, and keeping governance practices current.
- Provide tactical operational and IT support, including access provisioning, ticket triage, and tool onboarding, while keeping these activities appropriately balanced with broader strategic responsibilities.
- Act as a strategic thought partner to Operations and IT leadership, bringing an outside-in consulting perspective and proactively recommending improvements, technology investments, and best practices.
- 3-6+ years of experience in management consulting and/or technology consulting operations, with a strong understanding of how consulting organizations manage resources, utilization, timesheets, budgets, milestones, project systems, and talent development.
- Demonstrated ability to design, document, optimize, and implement business processes that improve operational efficiency and organizational performance.
- Strong project and program management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, establish priorities, coordinate dependencies, and deliver on schedule.
- Technical versatility and hands-on experience configuring, administering, troubleshooting, or optimizing enterprise SaaS and business platforms.
- Experience with platforms such as Salesforce, Okta, 1Password, CrowdStrike, Google Workspace, Asana, Claude, Gemini, or comparable technologies is strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of IT security and compliance fundamentals, including access management, penetration testing, data retention, governance, and risk management.
- Experience managing technology vendors and product lifecycles, including requirements gathering, evaluations, contract renewals, cost analysis, and implementation recommendations.
- Strong business judgment, with the ability to independently assess risks, make informed decisions, and recognize when escalation is appropriate.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear business recommendations for leadership.
- Experience building or supporting AI-driven or agentic workflows is a strong advantage.
- Comfortable working in a lean, fast-moving environment where priorities can shift and individuals are expected to contribute across both strategy and execution.
- Self-directed, proactive, and highly accountable, with the ability to operate effectively with minimal oversight.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
