Jobgether is a Belgian recruitment platform built entirely around remote and flexible work, aggregating openings from thousands of employers that allow work from outside an office. Its matching engine ranks roles against a candidate's skills, seniority and stated preferences on location and flexibility, rather than leaving people to filter a keyword search, and it verifies how genuinely remote each posting is. The company also runs an AI screening layer that shortlists applicants for employers, and publishes research and guidance on distributed work practices alongside the job marketplace itself.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Middle School Science Curriculum Writer Consultant based in United States.

This is a 12-month, remote consulting opportunity for an experienced science educator and curriculum designer.

You will create rigorous, engaging, and culturally responsive middle school science curricula from the ground up.

The scope includes full-course design, lesson planning, instructional materials, labs, projects, homework, and assessments.

Your work will help shape high-quality learning experiences across life, Earth, physical, and related sciences.

You will collaborate closely with academic leaders, instructional coaches, and fellow curriculum specialists.

The role combines subject-matter expertise, instructional design, inquiry-based learning, and data-informed iteration.

It offers flexible scheduling, meaningful educational impact, and the opportunity to contribute to an ambitious academic mission.

Accountabilities

    • Design comprehensive middle school science courses, including scope and sequence, unit plans, and daily lesson plans across areas such as life, Earth, physical sciences, and biology.
    • Develop high-quality student-facing instructional materials, including lessons, problem sets, laboratory activities, projects, real-world applications, and course-aligned homework.
    • Create formative and summative assessments with clear success criteria that measure both scientific knowledge and the ability to apply skills.
    • Ensure all curriculum materials align with applicable New York State standards, academic expectations, and desired student outcomes.
    • Embed inquiry-based learning, conceptual understanding, analytical thinking, scientific reasoning, and problem-solving throughout the curriculum.
    • Collaborate with academic leaders, instructional coaches, and other curriculum writers to maintain coherence across subjects, courses, and grade levels.
    • Gather and incorporate feedback from educators and student performance data to continuously refine and strengthen curriculum materials.
    • Manage project deliverables and deadlines in partnership with the designated project lead while maintaining a consistently high standard of instructional quality.
    • Requirements

      • Bachelor’s degree required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
      • At least 3 years of experience designing and/or teaching high-quality secondary or middle school science instruction.
      • Demonstrated experience developing rigorous, engaging, standards-aligned curriculum and instructional materials.
      • Strong knowledge of science content and effective middle school instructional practices.
      • Experience designing lessons, units, assessments, labs, projects, and other student-centered learning experiences.
      • Ability to develop curriculum that promotes inquiry, conceptual understanding, analytical thinking, and real-world application.
      • Experience using educator feedback and student performance data to evaluate and improve instructional materials.
      • Strong written communication, organization, collaboration, and project-management skills, with the ability to work independently in a flexible consulting environment.
      • A growth-oriented, collaborative mindset and a strong commitment to educational excellence, equity, and student success.
      • Permanent authorization to work in the United States is required.
      • Benefits

        • 12-month, project-based consulting engagement with an immediate start.
        • Fully remote work, with collaboration conducted remotely or in person when project needs require it.
        • Flexible work schedule, with deliverables and deadlines agreed upon with the project lead.
        • Compensation of $15,000-$25,000 per project unit, depending on experience and project scope.
        • Opportunity to make a meaningful impact on middle school science education and student outcomes.
        • Collaboration with academic leaders, instructional coaches, and experienced curriculum professionals.
        • Purpose-driven environment focused on high academic achievement, equity, growth, and lifelong learning.
        • This is a 1099 independent contractor engagement; consultants are responsible for their own taxes and are not eligible for employee benefit plans.
