This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Pessoa Desenvolvedora Backend / Java III (Engenharia Cadastros) based in Brazil.

This is an opportunity for a senior backend developer to work on high-scale, business-critical platforms supporting millions of monthly transactions. You will contribute to the evolution of a new-generation platform designed to significantly expand transaction capacity and incorporate financial services capabilities. The role involves solving complex engineering challenges with a strong focus on availability, resilience, performance, and innovation. You will work with Java/Kotlin, Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, Kafka, and relational and non-relational databases. Beyond writing code, you will influence technical decisions through code reviews, architecture discussions, and continuous improvement. You will join a collaborative engineering environment where experimentation, quality, AI adoption, and continuous learning are encouraged.

Accountabilities:

• Develop, test, and deploy robust software solutions for complex engineering challenges, with a strong focus on innovation, scalability, performance, and high availability.
• Write clean, incremental, agile, and well-documented code while applying sound engineering practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Conduct thorough code reviews and contribute to technical decisions, architecture discussions, and design choices that shape the evolution of the platform.
• Support continuous deployment and take ownership of applications in production through monitoring, logging, troubleshooting, and operational follow-up.
• Maintain and evolve a high-scale payments platform, performing root cause analysis and implementing improvements designed to reduce incidents and minimize their business impact.
• Collaborate actively with partner teams and other stakeholders, contributing to the technical refinement of user stories and helping translate business needs into effective engineering solutions.
• Participate in defining the future architecture of the platform, collaborating with the engineering team on technical decisions, scalability strategies, and continuous architectural evolution.

Requirements

• Proven experience with Java or Kotlin and Spring Boot, with strong hands-on expertise in backend software development.
• Solid knowledge of microservices architecture, REST APIs, and event-driven systems, including practical experience with Kafka or similar technologies.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, software design, and engineering best practices, with the ability to apply these concepts to complex systems.
• Experience working with both relational and non-relational databases, understanding how to select and use different data persistence approaches.
• Established experience with unit and integration testing, applying automated testing practices to ensure software reliability and maintainability.
• Strong proficiency with Git or another collaborative version-control system, including experience working within team-based development workflows.
• Experience configuring and managing scheduled jobs and automated tasks within software applications or services.
• Previous experience in financial services, payments, or fintech environments is considered a strong advantage.
• Knowledge of frontend development is desirable for supporting the creation and management of internal portals and tools.
• Experience with high-availability, real-time, fault-tolerant, or mission-critical systems is an advantage, particularly where reliability and resilience are essential.
• Familiarity with infrastructure automation, specialized platforms, or service provisioning is valuable for environments operating at significant scale.
• Demonstrated enthusiasm for artificial intelligence, with an interest in applying AI tools and capabilities to improve productivity, workflows, and day-to-day engineering activities.
