This is a temporary, fully remote opportunity for a skilled Power BI Developer focused on building impactful, data-driven reporting solutions.
You will create end-to-end dashboards, develop efficient data models, and transform complex backend data into intuitive business insights.
The role combines hands-on Power BI development with advanced DAX, analytical thinking, and performance optimization.
You’ll work across multiple business contexts, quickly learning key performance indicators and translating stakeholder needs into actionable dashboards.
Your work will help decision-makers access accurate, meaningful information and better understand business performance.

Accountabilities
- Build end-to-end Power BI dashboards directly from backend data tables using Query Mode, including DirectQuery and Power Query.
- Design efficient data models using star schemas, relationships, and appropriate refresh and performance strategies.
- Publish and manage reports through Power BI Service, including workspaces, access permissions, and scheduled refreshes.
- Develop sophisticated DAX measures for KPIs, time intelligence, year-over-year analysis, trends, rolling metrics, and business logic.
- Validate underlying data, investigate discrepancies, identify meaningful insights, and ensure reporting metrics are accurate and reliable.
- Optimize DAX calculations, data models, and visualizations to improve dashboard performance and usability.
- Quickly understand different business environments, operational priorities, and performance indicators.
- Translate business and reporting requirements into intuitive dashboards that communicate insights clearly and support decision-making.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand analytical needs, clarify requirements, and deliver reporting solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Apply strong problem-solving and analytical skills to address data, modeling, reporting, and visualization challenges.
- Work effectively in a remote environment while managing priorities, learning new business contexts quickly, and delivering high-quality work within a temporary engagement.
- Strong professional experience developing Power BI solutions, including building complete dashboards from backend data tables.
- Hands-on experience with Query Mode, including DirectQuery and Power Query.
- Strong understanding of data modeling concepts, including star schemas, relationships, data refresh, and performance optimization.
- Proven experience publishing and administering reports in Power BI Service, including workspace management, access controls, and refresh configuration.
- Advanced DAX capabilities, including KPI creation, time intelligence, trends, rolling calculations, and complex business logic.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to validate data, investigate discrepancies, identify insights, and maintain metric accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to optimize DAX expressions, data models, and Power BI visuals for performance.
- Ability to quickly understand multiple business models and identify the KPIs and reporting needs most relevant to each environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate complex business requirements into practical technical solutions.
- Excellent stakeholder communication skills, with the ability to ask effective questions, explain analytical concepts, and collaborate with business users.
- Adaptability and a strong learning mindset, particularly when working across different businesses, datasets, and reporting requirements.
