Jobgether is a Belgian recruitment platform built entirely around remote and flexible work, aggregating openings from thousands of employers that allow work from outside an office. Its matching engine ranks roles against a candidate's skills, seniority and stated preferences on location and flexibility, rather than leaving people to filter a keyword search, and it verifies how genuinely remote each posting is. The company also runs an AI screening layer that shortlists applicants for employers, and publishes research and guidance on distributed work practices alongside the job marketplace itself.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Principal Supply Chain Procurement Specialist based in the United States.

The Principal Supply Chain Procurement Specialist will manage complex procurement activities supporting specialized goods and services within a defense-focused supply chain environment.

This role owns supplier and procurement activities from sourcing and solicitation through negotiation, award, contract administration, and supplier performance management.

You will collaborate closely with contracts, engineering, quality, supplier development, planning, operations, logistics, and program teams.

The position combines strategic sourcing, commercial negotiation, compliance, supplier relationship management, and continuous improvement.

You will help optimize cost, delivery, quality, and risk while ensuring procurement activities comply with government requirements and organizational policies.

The role requires independent judgment, strong stakeholder management, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex operating environment.

This is a fully remote opportunity with limited travel and the chance to contribute to mission-critical supply chain programs.

Accountabilities:

    • Source and procure specialized goods and services in accordance with established defense supply chain principles and operating practices.
    • Coordinate with contracts, engineering, quality, supplier development, planning, operations, program, logistics, and other stakeholders to align procurement activities with business and program requirements.
    • Own contractual management for assigned suppliers and procurement activities, ensuring obligations, deliverables, and commercial requirements are effectively administered.
    • Manage purchase order performance and ensure compliance with applicable public laws, organizational policies and procedures, and import/export regulations.
    • Develop and review procurement specifications, statements of work, terms and conditions, and other documentation required for specialized materials, equipment, and services.
    • Prepare bid packages, conduct bidders’ conferences, evaluate proposals, negotiate commercial and contractual provisions, select or recommend suppliers, and prepare awards.
    • Administer resulting supplier contracts and purchase orders, including supplier payment activities when required.
    • Work with quality teams to evaluate and monitor supplier quality, reliability, performance, and ability to meet required delivery schedules.
    • Apply sound business practices when assessing supplier performance and conducting follow-up activities.
    • Ensure appropriate documentation is provided to logistics, transportation, and warehouse teams so that receipts and deliveries are accurately recorded.
    • Manage and develop strategic and key supplier relationships to support current and future business requirements.
    • Identify cost-reduction and efficiency opportunities through strategic sourcing, targeted negotiations, supplier management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Identify and mitigate procurement and supplier risks while maintaining compliance with applicable government and organizational requirements.
    • Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned contracts or projects, maintaining strong communication and coordination across stakeholders.
    • Manage stakeholder requests and competing priorities while maintaining appropriate compliance, documentation, and procurement standards.
    • Requirements

      • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field with 5+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree in business or a related field with 3+ years of relevant experience.
      • Demonstrated U.S. Government procurement experience, including knowledge of FAR and DFARS requirements.
      • Experience collaborating with program organizations and stakeholders both within and outside of global supply chain functions.
      • Experience working with ERP systems, particularly Costpoint or SAP.
      • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Teams, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
      • Ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required as a prerequisite.
      • Strong understanding of procurement, sourcing, supplier management, contract administration, and commercial negotiations.
      • Proven ability to negotiate effectively and achieve best value for internal stakeholders.
      • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to represent an organization as a key contact on contracts and projects.
      • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
      • Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities, including the ability to make sound decisions independently and in a timely manner.
      • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain productive stakeholder and supplier relationships.
      • Strong attention to detail and commitment to compliance, documentation, and procurement controls.
      • Ability to work effectively in a complex, fast-paced, collaborative environment.
      • Previous experience with Costpoint is preferred.
      • Knowledge of Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) categories and suppliers is preferred.
      • Experience with Long Term Pricing Agreements and Blanket Purchase Orders is preferred.
      • Benefits

        • Annual salary range of $77,800-$116,800.
        • Fully remote work opportunity within the United States.
        • Approximately 10% travel, with no relocation assistance available.
        • Potential eligibility for overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonus opportunities depending on the position and business needs.
        • Health insurance coverage.
        • Life and disability insurance.
        • Savings and retirement plan benefits.
        • Company-paid holidays.
        • Paid time off for vacation and personal business.
        • Opportunity to contribute to mission-critical defense and weapons systems supply chain programs.
        • Exposure to government procurement, strategic sourcing, supplier management, contract administration, and complex supply chain operations.
