Profile match
Jobgether is a Belgian recruitment platform built entirely around remote and flexible work, aggregating openings from thousands of employers that allow work from outside an office. Its matching engine ranks roles against a candidate's skills, seniority and stated preferences on location and flexibility, rather than leaving people to filter a keyword search, and it verifies how genuinely remote each posting is. The company also runs an AI screening layer that shortlists applicants for employers, and publishes research and guidance on distributed work practices alongside the job marketplace itself.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Procurement Manager based in Canada.

This is an opportunity to build and lead procurement operations as the first dedicated procurement hire within a fast-growing technology environment.

You will oversee purchasing across software and IT, marketing and events, travel, professional services, employee onboarding, and other business categories.

The role combines strategic sourcing, vendor management, commercial negotiation, and hands-on process building.

You will partner closely with Finance, IT, Legal, Security, and business leaders to ensure purchasing decisions balance cost, risk, business needs, and long-term value.

You will own the full vendor lifecycle, from sourcing and negotiations through contracts, renewals, risk reviews, and ongoing relationship management.

A key focus will be driving savings through smarter purchasing, reducing waste, consolidating redundant tools, and improving spend visibility.

This role offers substantial autonomy and the opportunity to establish scalable procurement practices from the ground up in a remote-first organization.

Accountabilities

    • Serve as the primary procurement point of contact across the organization, supporting purchasing decisions across software, information technology, marketing and events, travel, professional services, employee onboarding, and other spend categories.
    • Own the full vendor lifecycle, including sourcing, evaluation, negotiations, contracting, onboarding, relationship management, renewals, and offboarding where appropriate.
    • Lead vendor negotiations to secure favorable pricing, payment terms, ramp structures, renewal protections, and other commercial conditions while making practical trade-offs that support long-term value.
    • Evaluate vendors competitively and rigorously compare market alternatives to ensure the organization receives appropriate quality, pricing, and terms.
    • Drive procurement savings by identifying unnecessary spend, consolidating redundant tools, reclaiming unused licenses, and improving purchasing discipline rather than focusing solely on headline price reductions.
    • Guide internal stakeholders through sourcing decisions, helping them evaluate options, align on purchasing strategies, and maintain efficient procurement practices without creating unnecessary friction.
    • Build and maintain strong long-term relationships with strategic vendors while holding suppliers accountable for commercial and service expectations.
    • Establish procurement processes and workflows from the ground up, including purchasing intake, purchase order workflows, contract management, renewal tracking, and spend visibility.
    • Evaluate and implement lightweight procurement, spend-management, or contract lifecycle management tools in partnership with Finance and Legal.
    • Maintain accurate records of contracts, commercial terms, renewal dates, vendor information, and purchasing commitments.
    • Coordinate vendor security and data privacy reviews, including Service Organization Control 2 (SOC 2) assessments and Data Processing Agreements (DPAs), in collaboration with Security and Legal.
    • Support the review and negotiation of key contractual risk provisions, including indemnification, liability caps, insurance requirements, and related terms.
    • Partner with Finance, IT, Legal, Security, and business leaders to balance commercial opportunities, vendor risk, operational requirements, and long-term partnership health.
    • Provide clear recommendations, updates, and reporting to senior stakeholders on procurement activity, vendor performance, savings opportunities, renewals, and commercial decisions.
    • Continuously improve procurement processes and purchasing practices as the organization grows.
    • Requirements

      • You have 5+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, vendor management, commercial negotiations, or a closely related field.
      • You have ideally worked in-house within a high-growth technology, Software-as-a-Service, or software organization.
      • You have a proven track record of independently managing vendor negotiations, contract management, and renewal tracking across multiple functions and spend categories.
      • You have experience procuring and managing vendors across categories such as software and SaaS, marketing and events, travel, and professional services.
      • You are a strong commercial negotiator who can create leverage, confidently negotiate pricing and terms, and make practical trade-offs that deliver long-term value.
      • You have experience competitively evaluating vendors and negotiating favorable pricing, payment terms, renewal protections, and other commercial conditions.
      • You are comfortable influencing stakeholders, challenging purchasing decisions when necessary, and maintaining procurement discipline without unnecessarily slowing business teams.
      • You have experience building procurement processes from the ground up, including intake workflows, purchase order processes, contract and renewal tracking, and spend visibility.
      • You have experience selecting or implementing lightweight procurement, spend-management, or Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) tools in partnership with Finance and Legal.
      • You understand vendor risk management and have experience coordinating security and data privacy reviews, including SOC 2 assessments and DPAs.
      • You are familiar with core contractual risk provisions such as indemnification, liability caps, and insurance requirements and can coordinate effectively with Legal and Security teams.
      • You are highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong follow-through on contracts, renewals, purchasing commitments, and vendor relationships.
      • You have excellent written communication, presentation, executive communication, and relationship-management skills.
      • You are comfortable working independently, taking ownership, and building structure in an environment where processes may not yet exist.
      • You thrive in a fast-moving, remote-first environment and can manage a broad vendor portfolio while maintaining high standards of accuracy and execution.
      • Benefits

        • Compensation of US$145,000-$190,000 annually, plus equity; actual compensation may vary based on location, qualifications, work history, and interview performance.
        • Generous cash and equity compensation.
        • Early exercise opportunities for all options, including pre-vested options.
        • Remote-first culture with the flexibility to work from anywhere.
        • Flexible paid time off and a year-end break.
        • Health, dental, and vision insurance for employees and dependents, with coverage applicable to Canada and the United States.
        • 4% employer matching contribution to applicable 401(k) or Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) programs.
        • MacBook Pro provided for work.
        • One-time home office setup stipend for items such as a desk, chair, monitor, and related equipment.
        • Monthly meal stipend.
        • Monthly social meetup stipend.
        • Annual health and wellness stipend.
        • Annual learning and professional development stipend.
        • Opportunity to build a procurement function from the ground up and directly influence purchasing strategy, vendor relationships, and operational efficiency.
        • Opportunity to collaborate with a globally distributed team of experienced professionals across Finance, Legal, IT, Security, and business functions.
