Profile match
Jobgether is a Belgian recruitment platform built entirely around remote and flexible work, aggregating openings from thousands of employers that allow work from outside an office. Its matching engine ranks roles against a candidate's skills, seniority and stated preferences on location and flexibility, rather than leaving people to filter a keyword search, and it verifies how genuinely remote each posting is. The company also runs an AI screening layer that shortlists applicants for employers, and publishes research and guidance on distributed work practices alongside the job marketplace itself.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Project Manager based in United States.

This role offers the opportunity to lead contract operations supporting a major federal healthcare initiative focused on improving recognition and support for organizations and individuals serving Veterans, families, and caregivers.

You will act as the primary day-to-day contractor lead, coordinating a multidisciplinary team and managing a high-volume review workflow.

The position combines structured project management, quality assurance, performance monitoring, risk management, and stakeholder communication.

You will establish repeatable processes, maintain clear accountability, and ensure work is completed accurately and within required timelines.

The role requires close collaboration with government stakeholders while maintaining clear distinctions between contractor recommendations and government decision-making authority.

You will also use data, lessons learned, and process improvement techniques to strengthen operational efficiency and service quality.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced federal program manager who thrives in documentation-intensive, deadline-driven environments.

Accountabilities

    • Serve as the primary contractor point of contact for day-to-day contract performance and coordinate activities across all functional areas.
    • Develop and maintain monthly review work plans, integrated schedules, workload forecasts, staffing plans, and performance trackers.
    • Prepare executive-ready monthly status reports covering accomplishments, upcoming activities, workload, risks, issues, decisions, and corrective actions.
    • Assign and monitor recognition requests through technical review, applicant clarification, quality assurance, and final recommendation stages.
    • Establish and maintain governance routines, escalation paths, decision logs, action-item tracking, and internal communication protocols.
    • Monitor performance against turnaround times, acceptance criteria, and quality standards, implementing recovery plans when performance falls behind expectations.
    • Identify operational, staffing, quality, and compliance risks and coordinate practical mitigation strategies.
    • Facilitate recurring team meetings, reviewer calibration sessions, stakeholder discussions, and leadership briefings.
    • Coordinate effectively with government stakeholders while maintaining appropriate distinctions between contractor recommendations and government approval authority.
    • Analyze workload, identify root causes of operational challenges, and apply lessons learned to improve processes and outcomes.
    • Refine standard operating procedures, templates, checklists, workflows, and other resources to promote consistency and efficiency.
    • Maintain strong documentation, traceability, and accountability across simultaneous workstreams and deliverables.
    • Requirements

      • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Project Management, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
      • At least 7 years of project or program management experience, including responsibility for schedules, deliverables, risks, staffing, and client communications.
      • Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary teams performing high-volume, deadline-driven business operations or case-review activities.
      • Experience preparing executive-ready status reports, work plans, dashboards, and decision-support materials.
      • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams while maintaining accuracy, traceability, and document control.
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong commitment to client service and stakeholder satisfaction.
      • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, and SharePoint, or comparable collaboration platforms.
      • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
      • PMP certification is preferred.
      • Experience supporting federal healthcare, Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, or related government programs is highly desirable.
      • Experience managing eligibility, compliance, credentialing, recognition, grants, claims, or other document-intensive review processes is advantageous.
      • Familiarity with Lean process improvement, workflow automation, performance dashboards, or quality-management methodologies is a plus.
      • Knowledge of Veterans’ healthcare, benefits, caregiver, or community-navigation programs is beneficial.
      • Benefits

        • Opportunity to lead a meaningful federal healthcare program supporting Veterans, families, and caregivers.
        • High-impact project leadership responsibilities within a multidisciplinary and mission-focused environment.
        • Opportunity to work directly with government stakeholders and contribute to improved service delivery.
        • Exposure to federal program management, operational governance, quality assurance, and process improvement.
        • Opportunities to implement repeatable workflows, performance measurement, and continuous improvement initiatives.
        • Collaborative environment focused on technology, creativity, human-centered services, and mission outcomes.
        • Professional growth opportunities through exposure to complex federal programs and cross-functional initiatives.
        • Equal opportunity employment environment with consideration for qualified candidates from diverse backgrounds, including Veterans and transitioning service members.
        • Additional compensation and benefits are subject to the applicable employment arrangement and eligibility requirements.
