Jobgether is a Belgian recruitment platform built entirely around remote and flexible work, aggregating openings from thousands of employers that allow work from outside an office. Its matching engine ranks roles against a candidate's skills, seniority and stated preferences on location and flexibility, rather than leaving people to filter a keyword search, and it verifies how genuinely remote each posting is. The company also runs an AI screening layer that shortlists applicants for employers, and publishes research and guidance on distributed work practices alongside the job marketplace itself.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Project Manager - Design and Construction based in the United States.

This is a high-ownership project management role responsible for delivering complex physical infrastructure projects from early design through construction and operational handoff. You will own scope, schedule, budget, risk, and quality across multiple projects while coordinating architects, engineers, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders. You will translate technical and security requirements into practical, buildable solutions and ensure drawing packages are accurate and constructible. The role combines strategic project oversight with hands-on execution in a fast-moving, build-focused environment. You will establish repeatable processes, identify risks early, and drive accountability across every stage of delivery. Success means delivering projects predictably, efficiently, and to a consistently high standard as the organization scales.

Accountabilities:

    • Own projects end-to-end from early design coordination through construction, closeout, and handoff to Operations, maintaining control of scope, schedule, budget, milestones, risks, and quality.
    • Coordinate drawing development across schematic design, design development, and construction document phases, ensuring documentation is complete, accurate, constructible, and aligned with established standards.
    • Partner with security, product, IT, cybersecurity, and operations stakeholders to translate program and accreditation requirements into practical, repeatable construction solutions.
    • Lead architects, engineers, consultants, general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors throughout project execution, serving as the primary point of contact and driving work toward agreed requirements.
    • Review RFIs, submittals, change orders, and other construction documentation against design intent, project scope, schedule, and budget before approval.
    • Manage permitting and approval processes, including submissions, responses to comments, and coordination required to protect project timelines.
    • Track project milestones and proactively identify schedule, budget, design, procurement, construction, and delivery risks, developing mitigation plans before issues affect outcomes.
    • Partner with Finance to monitor project budgets, validate changes, maintain financial controls, and ensure cost impacts remain visible throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Establish and lead project meetings, status reviews, decision tracking, and accountability routines that maintain momentum and alignment across internal and external stakeholders.
    • Enforce construction quality and consistency across sites, identifying field issues early and ensuring appropriate resolution before project completion.
    • Drive project closeout activities, including punch lists, final inspections, documentation, testing, and operational handoff.
    • Improve project management processes, tools, templates, standards, and workflows to make future projects more predictable, efficient, and repeatable.
    • Make timely decisions in a fast-changing environment, balancing project requirements, commercial considerations, technical constraints, and incomplete information.
    • Travel to project sites as needed, with travel potentially reaching up to 50% of the time.
    • Requirements:

      • 7-10 years of project management experience within construction, architecture, engineering, or a closely related field, with direct responsibility for design coordination and construction execution.
      • Demonstrated experience managing drawing sets through schematic design, design development, and construction documentation phases, including constructability review.
      • Proven experience managing contractors and vendors and overseeing RFIs, submittals, change orders, schedules, and project specifications.
      • Working knowledge of permitting and approval processes and the ability to navigate requirements efficiently.
      • Strong project controls experience, including scope, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, resource coordination, and quality oversight.
      • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and keep multidisciplinary teams aligned.
      • Proficiency with project management platforms such as Procore, Google Workspace, and industry-standard drawing-review tools.
      • Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a rapidly changing environment.
      • Ability to build trusted relationships with architects, engineers, contractors, vendors, finance teams, operations teams, and executive stakeholders.
      • United States citizenship is required.
      • Candidates must be eligible for and committed to obtaining and maintaining eligibility for a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) level security clearance; an active security clearance is preferred.
      • Must reside in a major city within the relevant operating markets, including Washington, DC, Northern Virginia, Maryland, Boston, or New York.
      • Preferred experience includes high-growth or startup environments, particularly multi-site or repeatable construction programs.
      • Experience with secured, classified, defense, national security, or other specialized infrastructure environments is advantageous.
      • Proximity to a major airport is preferred due to the travel requirements.
      • Relevant certifications such as PMP, Cisco, Ruckus, Ekahau, networking, construction management, or related project management credentials are a plus.
      • Benefits:

        • Competitive base salary of $140,000-$170,000 USD.
        • Remote or hybrid working arrangements.
        • Opportunity to lead high-impact design and construction projects supporting secure and mission-critical environments.
        • Significant ownership and autonomy as an individual contributor within the construction and product organization.
        • Exposure to complex projects spanning architecture, engineering, construction, technology, security, and operations.
        • Opportunity to help build scalable project management processes and standards in a high-growth environment.
        • Collaboration with multidisciplinary internal teams and external industry partners.
        • Travel opportunities to project sites, with travel of up to 50% of the time.
        • Professional growth through ownership of increasingly complex projects and cross-functional initiatives.
