Quality Assurance Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer based in India.

This role is an opportunity to help ensure quality across a diverse technology ecosystem supporting critical business operations.

You’ll combine manual and automated testing across internal platforms, customer portals, and dealer-facing applications.

Working as an embedded member of an Agile Scrum team, you’ll help build quality into the development lifecycle from the earliest stages.

You’ll investigate defects, analyze test results, and collaborate closely with engineering, product, and business stakeholders.

A key focus will be expanding automation while reducing maintenance through emerging AI-assisted testing techniques.

You’ll experiment with AI-generated test cases, self-healing automation, intelligent test prioritization, and AI-supported defect analysis.

Accountabilities

• Perform comprehensive manual and automated testing across existing and newly developed applications, including internal origination, underwriting, servicing, and portfolio management systems, as well as customer- and dealer-facing portals.
• Design, execute, and maintain detailed test cases and automated test scripts across both legacy and modern platforms.
• Analyze test data, results, logs, and failure patterns to identify defects, isolate root causes, and communicate technical findings clearly to engineering teams.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and business stakeholders to clarify requirements, reproduce issues, validate fixes, and ensure expected functionality.
• Participate actively in Agile Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, story reviews, and retrospectives, helping integrate quality throughout the development lifecycle.
• Build and expand automated test coverage using appropriate automation frameworks and scripting techniques.
• Evaluate and apply AI-assisted testing approaches, including AI-generated test cases, self-healing scripts, intelligent test selection and prioritization, and AI-driven analysis of logs and anomalies.
• Use AI-enabled tools to accelerate test-result analysis and identify likely root causes and recurring failure patterns.
• Track defects through bug-tracking and test-management systems, documenting clear reproduction steps, severity, business impact, and relevant technical information.
• Support regression testing for releases affecting internal systems and customer- or dealer-facing applications.
• Identify QA process bottlenecks and recommend improvements to workflows, tooling, automation, and team practices to reduce manual dependencies and backlog risk.

Requirements

• 4-6 years of professional experience in software quality assurance, combining both manual and automated testing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Quality Assurance, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred; equivalent professional experience may also be considered.
• Proven experience testing web applications across both legacy and modern technology platforms.
• Working knowledge of test automation frameworks and scripting for developing and maintaining automated tests.
• Strong interest in and willingness to experiment with AI-assisted testing technologies, including AI-generated test cases, self-healing automation, intelligent test prioritization, and AI-based log or anomaly analysis.
• A practical, experimental mindset toward emerging AI testing technologies, with the ability to evaluate where they can improve coverage, efficiency, and maintainability.
• Experience using bug-tracking or test-management tools to document, prioritize, and manage defects.
• Basic SQL knowledge for validating application and database data.
• Experience working within Agile Scrum development teams and participating in collaborative software delivery processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, particularly when investigating defects and isolating root causes across multi-system workflows.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document technical issues clearly and collaborate effectively with distributed teams.
• Exposure to API testing is preferred.
• Experience testing customer-facing or dealer-facing web portals is preferred.
• Experience in financial services, lending, equipment leasing, or other related industries is an advantage.
