Jobgether is a Belgian recruitment platform built entirely around remote and flexible work, aggregating openings from thousands of employers that allow work from outside an office. Its matching engine ranks roles against a candidate's skills, seniority and stated preferences on location and flexibility, rather than leaving people to filter a keyword search, and it verifies how genuinely remote each posting is. The company also runs an AI screening layer that shortlists applicants for employers, and publishes research and guidance on distributed work practices alongside the job marketplace itself.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Security Project Technician 2 based in the United States.

This role is an opportunity to take ownership of the technical delivery of security and life-safety projects ranging from small to large and varying in complexity.

You will install, program, test, commission, troubleshoot, and certify systems while ensuring customers receive reliable, high-quality solutions.

The position combines hands-on technical expertise with customer interaction, project coordination, and ongoing technical support.

You’ll work closely with project and operations leaders, engineering teams, customers, and other technicians to deliver projects safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

You’ll also help identify project risks, resolve complex technical issues, and recommend improvements that enhance customer satisfaction.

The environment is collaborative and growth-oriented, with opportunities to mentor less experienced technicians and expand your technical capabilities.

This is a strong fit for a self-directed security professional who enjoys solving problems and delivering exceptional service in the field.

Accountabilities

    • Install, program, test, repair, commission, certify, and service security, fire alarm, life-safety, and related electronic systems and equipment.
    • Install and program access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection systems.
    • Execute key technical components of multiple projects, including programming, graphics development, system start-up, certification testing, customer training, closeout documentation, and ongoing technical support.
    • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, manuals, and technical specifications to determine installation and repair procedures.
    • Operate systems to demonstrate functionality, commission new installations, analyze performance, identify malfunctions, and troubleshoot technical issues.
    • Develop and modify system programs as required and use technical expertise to identify effective solutions to non-routine problems.
    • Provide technical support and training to customers while maintaining a high standard of customer service and satisfaction.
    • Collaborate with engineering personnel to resolve unusual system-operation, maintenance, and warranty issues.
    • Work closely with Project Managers and Operations Managers on project coordination, quality, scope changes, schedules, budgets, and customer satisfaction.
    • Identify potential project risks, communicate them to appropriate stakeholders, and support mitigation strategies to control costs and project timelines.
    • Recommend improvements related to product performance, installation techniques, technical standards, and customer experience.
    • Mentor less experienced technicians and, when required, supervise personnel performing testing, tuning, and equipment adjustments.
    • Perform additional technical and operational responsibilities as needed.
    • Requirements

      • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent practical experience.
      • 3-5 years of relevant technical experience, preferably in electronic security, fire alarm, life-safety, or field service environments.

      • Solid technical knowledge of electronic security and/or fire alarm systems, with strong programming and troubleshooting capabilities.
      • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, including experience using hand and power tools and working with electrical and electronic equipment.
      • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, manuals, and technical drawings.
      • Strong mathematical and analytical skills, including the ability to perform calculations involving measurements and electrical concepts when required.
      • Advanced computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, and Excel, along with relevant technical software.
      • Exceptional customer-service orientation and the ability to remain composed and effective under pressure.
      • Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, organizational, and project-management skills.
      • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.
      • Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
      • Ability to identify problems, develop practical solutions, and escalate only the most complex issues when appropriate.
      • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to travel regularly to local job sites; limited overnight travel may occasionally be required.
      • Product- or industry-specific certifications are a plus, including certifications related to Software House, Lenel, Genetec, Avigilon, AMAG, Milestone, ONSSI, or AXIS systems.
