Senior CloudOps Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior CloudOps Engineer based in India.

This is a senior cloud engineering opportunity focused on designing, deploying, and operating robust cloud infrastructure at scale.

You will take ownership of the end-to-end lifecycle of cloud environments, ensuring platforms remain scalable, secure, resilient, and highly available.

The role combines cloud architecture, infrastructure automation, Kubernetes administration, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) expertise.

You will drive operational efficiency and establish cloud best practices while continuously identifying opportunities for optimization and automation.

You will collaborate with engineering and business teams to deliver reliable cloud services that support high-impact projects and evolving business needs.

As a senior technical contributor, you will provide guidance and mentorship to other engineers while helping shape cloud strategy and technology decisions.

This position is well suited to an experienced cloud professional who enjoys solving complex infrastructure challenges and working across global, distributed teams.

Accountabilities

• Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of complex cloud infrastructure solutions across AWS and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Own the end-to-end lifecycle of cloud environments, including deployment, maintenance, optimization, scalability, security, and availability.
• Drive infrastructure automation and operational improvements to increase reliability, efficiency, and consistency across cloud environments.
• Establish and promote cloud engineering best practices, standards, and scalable infrastructure patterns.
• Design, deploy, and manage containerized environments using Kubernetes, including Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform to enable repeatable and automated infrastructure management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and technology teams to deliver secure, scalable, and highly available cloud services.
• Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and assess their potential to improve infrastructure capabilities, operational efficiency, and cloud strategy.
• Provide technical leadership throughout high-impact project lifecycles, from architecture and planning through implementation and ongoing operations.
• Mentor junior and developing engineers, share technical expertise, and help strengthen cloud engineering capabilities across the team.
• Coordinate effectively with global onshore and offshore teams to ensure consistent delivery, operational alignment, and successful project execution.
• Identify opportunities to optimize cloud resources, processes, and architectures while maintaining performance, security, and reliability.

Requirements

• Bring 8-12 years of professional experience in cloud engineering, CloudOps, infrastructure engineering, DevOps, or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrate expert-level knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Possess deep hands-on expertise with Kubernetes, including production environments based on Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Demonstrate strong proficiency with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
• Have experience designing and implementing complex cloud solutions with a focus on scalability, security, reliability, and high availability.
• Bring a strong understanding of cloud automation, optimization, operational best practices, and infrastructure lifecycle management.
• Demonstrate experience managing or coordinating global onshore and offshore engineering teams.
• Have a proven track record of contributing technical leadership to high-impact projects across their full lifecycle.
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate complex infrastructure challenges and develop effective solutions.
• Possess strong communication and collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
• Have the ability to mentor engineers, share technical knowledge, and provide guidance on cloud architecture and operational practices.
• Demonstrate curiosity and adaptability when evaluating emerging cloud technologies and contributing to improvements in cloud strategy.
