Accountabilities:
The Senior Fullstack Developer will design, develop, and maintain modern software solutions that enhance customer-facing digital experiences. The role requires strong technical ownership, collaboration, and the ability to leverage AI-powered development practices to improve engineering efficiency and product quality.
- Build and enhance fullstack applications with a primary focus on frontend development and user experience.
- Develop scalable, accessible, and high-performance UI components using modern frontend frameworks such as React and TypeScript.
- Translate product requirements and design concepts into robust technical solutions in collaboration with product and design teams.
- Own frontend architecture decisions, establish coding standards, and contribute to maintaining high-quality engineering practices.
- Build and maintain backend services using technologies such as Go and Node.js.
- Design and integrate RESTful and GraphQL APIs to support consumer-facing applications.
- Work with cloud platforms and infrastructure components, including deployment processes and CI/CD workflows.
- Develop solutions using modern data technologies such as PostgreSQL, Cloud Spanner, BigQuery, and Bigtable.
- Build and maintain integrations with ecommerce platforms and third-party systems.
- Contribute to AI-first engineering practices by using AI tools to accelerate development, review solutions, and improve workflows.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architecture decisions.
- Mentor other engineers and share knowledge across the team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and impactful products.
- Support continuous improvement of development processes, tools, and engineering practices.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate is an experienced fullstack engineer with strong software development expertise, a product-focused mindset, and enthusiasm for AI-powered engineering workflows.
- 6+ years of experience building reliable, scalable, and high-quality software systems.
- Strong experience developing consumer-facing applications and digital products.
- Advanced frontend development experience with frameworks such as React, Svelte, Angular, Vue, or Ember.
- Strong knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frontend development practices.
- Experience developing backend services using Go, Node.js, Java, or similar technologies.
- Experience designing and consuming APIs, including REST and GraphQL services.
- Understanding of cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS, or Azure.
- Experience working with microservice-based architectures and distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and computer science fundamentals.
- Experience working with databases and data platforms such as PostgreSQL or cloud-native data services.
- Strong focus on code quality, testing, and effective code review practices.
- Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to technical growth within a team.
- AI-first development mindset, with experience using AI tools such as Claude or similar platforms to support coding, reviewing, and engineering workflows.
- Curiosity and willingness to experiment with AI-assisted development practices and share learnings with teammates.
- Previous experience in startup or high-growth product environments is strongly preferred.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a remote environment.
- Ability to work within EST/EDT or PST working hours while located in Canada.
