Profile match
Jobgether is a Belgian recruitment platform built entirely around remote and flexible work, aggregating openings from thousands of employers that allow work from outside an office. Its matching engine ranks roles against a candidate's skills, seniority and stated preferences on location and flexibility, rather than leaving people to filter a keyword search, and it verifies how genuinely remote each posting is. The company also runs an AI screening layer that shortlists applicants for employers, and publishes research and guidance on distributed work practices alongside the job marketplace itself.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior HR Generalist based in the United States.

The Senior HR Generalist will play a key role in supporting employees, leaders, and workforce operations within a unionized manufacturing environment.

The role serves as a trusted partner on employee relations, labor relations, performance management, staffing, and HR compliance.

You will work closely with employees, managers, and union representatives to resolve workplace concerns and administer collective bargaining agreements.

The position also contributes to recruitment, onboarding, training, benefits, HRIS administration, and employee engagement initiatives.

By providing practical HR guidance and data-driven insights, you will help strengthen operational performance, safety, retention, and organizational capability.

This is an on-site role requiring strong judgment, discretion, communication skills, and the ability to navigate complex workplace situations.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in labor relations and thrives in a fast-paced, operationally focused environment.

    • Serve as a primary HR contact for employees, managers, and union representatives, addressing workplace concerns, grievances, and employee relations matters in accordance with applicable policies and collective bargaining agreements.
    • Support labor relations activities by interpreting and administering union contracts, resolving issues involving employees and union officials, and contributing to collective bargaining and negotiation activities.
    • Coach managers and leaders on performance management, employee relations, disciplinary actions, investigations, policy violations, and employee development initiatives.
    • Support the full-cycle recruitment and onboarding process, including job postings, candidate sourcing and screening, interviews, selection, orientation, and new hire integration.
    • Contribute to facility-wide HR initiatives covering compensation, benefits, training, leave administration, HRIS, employee engagement, and workforce development.
    • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment and labor regulations, particularly requirements applicable to unionized workforces.

    • Assist with payroll and benefits administration, respond to employee questions, and help ensure compensation-related matters are addressed accurately and promptly.
    • Generate and analyze HR metrics and reports, using workforce data to provide actionable recommendations to management and support informed decision-making.
    • Partner with health and safety teams on workers’ compensation claims, return-to-work matters, reasonable accommodation assessments, and initiatives that promote a safe and compliant workplace.
    • Maintain accurate HR records and support HRIS administration, ensuring employee information and processes are managed efficiently and confidentially.
    • Requirements

      • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business, or a related field from an accredited college or university.

      • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and effective relationships with employees, managers, and union representatives.
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, combined with strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
      • Technical proficiency with HRIS platforms, preferably UKG, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
      • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity, professionalism, and discretion.
      • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in an operational environment.
      • Five or more years of HR experience, experience in a unionized manufacturing environment, and PHR and/or SHRM-CP certification are preferred.
      • A master’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related field is preferred but not required.
