Accountabilities:
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for leading engineering activities, managing project delivery, and ensuring technical solutions meet customer and business expectations.
- Lead and manage mechanical engineering activities for major customer projects, ensuring delivery within agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Oversee design, development, and engineering tasks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with technical leads and cross-functional teams to define requirements, solve engineering challenges, and deliver effective solutions.
- Act as a primary technical point of contact for customers, addressing engineering questions and ensuring alignment with project objectives.
- Manage the execution of engineering solutions while monitoring progress, risks, and delivery milestones.
- Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance engineering processes and outcomes.
- Ensure all technical deliverables meet customer expectations and applicable engineering standards.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate is a skilled mechanical engineering professional with experience managing complex projects and delivering technical solutions in demanding environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Significant experience working in mechanical engineering roles, with proven project leadership responsibilities.
- Experience managing complex engineering projects, preferably within aerospace, defence, industrial, or highly regulated sectors.
- Strong technical expertise in mechanical design, development, and electro-mechanical systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with confidence engaging customers, technical teams, and senior stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive and collaborative approach.
- Experience mentoring engineers and supporting technical team development.
