Senior .NET Web Developer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior .NET Web Developer based in Canada.

This is an opportunity for an experienced software engineer to contribute to the development and evolution of enterprise-grade web and mobile applications. You will work across the full application lifecycle, from architecture and development through testing, deployment, production support, and continuous improvement. The role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership, requiring strong judgment when solving complex problems and modernizing legacy systems. You will collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders while helping establish development standards and best practices. Accountabilities:

• Design, develop, test, debug, and implement new web-based and mobile applications using .NET and related technologies.
• Maintain, enhance, and modernize existing C# applications, including re-architecting legacy solutions to improve scalability, maintainability, and cloud readiness.
• Design and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases, including tables, views, stored procedures, and related data components.
• Contribute to application architecture, technical design documentation, development standards, and best practices.
• Monitor application security, integrity, performance, and reliability across the software lifecycle.
• Provide production support by analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving application issues.
• Communicate project progress, identify technical risks, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders throughout delivery.
• Provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing to other team members and contribute as both a team member and technical lead when required.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions aligned with product requirements, industry trends, and long-term technical strategy.
• Support application planning, deployment, upgrades, and implementations, including occasional off-hours activities when required.

Requirements:

• 8+ years of professional software development experience, preferably involving large-scale enterprise applications.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong expertise in the .NET platform and C#, with solid experience designing and developing enterprise software solutions.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2008+ and T-SQL, including database development and optimization.
• Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Integration Services (SSIS), and Analysis Services (SSAS).
• Strong working knowledge of HTML/HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery, CSS, and Bootstrap.
• Experience creating and consuming web services, with working knowledge of XML.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Visual Studio and TFS, including application build and deployment processes.
• Strong understanding of software architecture and the ability to design creative solutions for complex technical problems.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments is preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, manage priorities, and deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Knowledge of networking and server administration is an asset.
• Familiarity with AI techniques such as neural network programming, Genetic Algorithm Framework for .NET (GAF), or steering behavior programming is considered an additional asset.
