Senior Platform Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Platform Engineer based in India.

This role offers the opportunity to build and evolve scalable, reliable data platforms in Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

You will combine platform engineering, data infrastructure, and DevOps practices to create robust technical foundations.

The position involves designing cloud infrastructure, automating deployments, and improving data workflows and reliability.

You will work closely with data scientists, analysts, and engineers to ensure data is accessible, secure, and high quality.

Accountabilities

• Design, develop, and manage scalable data platforms and infrastructure using GCP services.
• Implement infrastructure as code and maintain cloud environments using Terraform.
• Build and automate CI/CD and deployment workflows with GitHub Actions.
• Develop and maintain data transformation and modeling processes using dbt.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and engineering teams to ensure data availability, reliability, and quality.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data platforms and pipelines for performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Apply appropriate security and compliance practices to protect data and cloud infrastructure.
• Investigate and resolve infrastructure and data platform issues while continuously improving operational processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Proven professional experience as a Platform Engineer, Data Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or in a similar role.
• Strong hands-on experience with GCP services such as BigQuery, Cloud Run, Cloud Workflows, Pub/Sub, and Dataflow.
• Practical experience with CI/CD practices and tools, particularly GitHub Actions.
• Experience using dbt for data modeling and transformation.
• Solid understanding of DevOps principles, cloud infrastructure, automation, and infrastructure as code.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or a comparable programming language.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with strong attention to detail.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across technical and data-focused teams.
