Senior Platform Engineer (AWS)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Platform Engineer (AWS) based in Brazil.

As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will contribute to large-scale infrastructure initiatives supporting a highly transactional, customer-facing platform serving millions of users across Europe. You will design, implement, and improve secure, scalable, and reliable infrastructure across Amazon Web Services (AWS) environments. The role combines cloud engineering, infrastructure automation, platform reliability, and operational excellence within a highly collaborative engineering organization. You will work alongside senior engineers, technical leads, and engineering managers to deliver complex infrastructure projects and continuously improve platform capabilities. Automation and modern tooling will be central to increasing engineering efficiency while maintaining strong security and reliability standards. Accountabilities

• Deliver infrastructure and platform improvements across AWS environments, with a focus on scalability, security, reliability, and operational excellence.
• Implement infrastructure changes using Terraform while following established modules, patterns, standards, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Design, maintain, and optimize secure cloud solutions aligned with AWS best practices.
• Develop automation, internal tooling, and engineering utilities using Node.js or Python.
• Collaborate closely with senior engineers, technical leads, and engineering managers to plan and deliver project milestones.
• Support Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) processes, including testing, validation, deployment, and release activities.
• Identify delivery risks, troubleshoot infrastructure and platform issues, and proactively communicate blockers and mitigation strategies.
• Contribute to initiatives that improve platform reliability, security, resilience, and overall operational performance.
• Apply least-privilege access and secure-by-default principles across infrastructure and cloud services.
• Identify opportunities to improve engineering productivity through automation, reusable tooling, and modern cloud engineering practices.
• Participate in Agile engineering processes and contribute to continuous improvement across technical delivery workflows.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS services, including Elastic Container Service (ECS), Lambda, Identity and Access Management (IAM), CloudFront, and related cloud technologies.
• Proven experience designing, building, and managing cloud infrastructure using Terraform.
• Strong understanding of AWS security principles, operational excellence, reliability, and cloud architecture best practices.
• Solid experience developing automation and scripts using Node.js or Python.
• Professional experience working with CI/CD environments and infrastructure-as-code workflows.
• Ability to independently manage and deliver complex technical projects with limited supervision.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working effectively within Agile engineering teams and collaborative technical environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Comfortable using Artificial Intelligence (AI)-assisted engineering tools to improve productivity, development quality, and delivery.
• Experience with AWS IAM and identity management is advantageous.
• Experience working with multi-account AWS environments is a plus.
• Familiarity with CloudFront, Web Application Firewall (WAF), and Content Delivery Network (CDN) technologies is desirable.
• Experience with GitHub Actions or other Git-based CI/CD platforms is beneficial.
• Experience operating within large-scale cloud environments is a plus.
• Knowledge of service-to-service authentication patterns such as OpenID Connect (OIDC) is desirable.
• Previous experience in platform engineering or building internal developer platforms is advantageous.
