Profile match
Jobgether is a Belgian recruitment platform built entirely around remote and flexible work, aggregating openings from thousands of employers that allow work from outside an office. Its matching engine ranks roles against a candidate's skills, seniority and stated preferences on location and flexibility, rather than leaving people to filter a keyword search, and it verifies how genuinely remote each posting is. The company also runs an AI screening layer that shortlists applicants for employers, and publishes research and guidance on distributed work practices alongside the job marketplace itself.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer based in United States.

As a Senior QA Automation Engineer, you will lead the expansion of automated quality assurance across web and backend applications. You will architect scalable testing frameworks, establish automation best practices, and integrate quality into the software development lifecycle. The role combines hands-on automation engineering with technical leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration. You will work closely with Software Engineering, Product, Business Analysis, DevOps, and QA teams to ensure applications meet high standards for quality, reliability, and performance. Your work will span UI, API, database, integration, regression, and exploratory testing while supporting continuous delivery. This is an opportunity to shape QA strategy, improve test coverage, and drive a quality-first culture across a technology-focused organization.

Accountabilities

    • Lead the design, implementation, and rollout of scalable and maintainable automated testing frameworks for web and backend applications.
    • Own and continuously evolve the QA automation strategy, extending frameworks such as Playwright, C#, Reqnroll (Behavior-Driven Development (BDD)/Gherkin), NUnit, and HttpClient across applications.
    • Evaluate and introduce new testing tools and approaches as product and testing requirements evolve.
    • Integrate automated testing into Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines using Azure DevOps or equivalent platforms.
    • Partner with DevOps and Engineering teams to embed automated testing into build and release processes.
    • Design, develop, and maintain automated tests covering user interfaces, Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), databases, and integrations.
    • Perform manual exploratory and regression testing when needed to complement automated coverage.
    • Analyze, document, track, and manage defects throughout the software development lifecycle and collaborate with engineers to validate fixes.
    • Write and execute SQL queries for data validation, backend verification, and complex test scenarios.
    • Mentor QA engineers on automation practices, coding standards, testing frameworks, and tools.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams during requirements reviews, design sessions, and sprint planning to ensure features are testable and automation-ready.
    • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including standups, planning, refinement, and retrospectives, while promoting a quality-first mindset.
    • Partner with Engineering Managers to align automation priorities with product delivery objectives.
    • Provide QA metrics and reporting on automation coverage, test results, and defect trends.
    • Establish and improve standards for automation practices, test documentation, and version control.
    • Support off-hours production deployments when required to validate release stability and quality.
    • Requirements

      • 7+ years of experience in software quality assurance, including at least 4 years focused on QA automation.
      • Proven experience designing, developing, and maintaining automated testing frameworks for web and backend applications.
      • Strong understanding of functional, regression, integration, and performance testing methodologies.
      • Hands-on experience with Playwright, Reqnroll (BDD/Gherkin), NUnit, HttpClient, or comparable automation tools and frameworks.
      • Strong C# programming skills for developing and maintaining test automation frameworks.
      • Strong SQL proficiency, including the ability to write and interpret complex queries for data validation.
      • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated test integration using Azure DevOps or equivalent tools.
      • Solid understanding of applications built with .NET, C#, SQL Server, and Angular.
      • Familiarity with Agile or Scrum development methodologies.
      • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
      • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
      • Experience leading QA automation rollouts or establishing automation frameworks in enterprise environments is preferred.
      • Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter or k6 is a plus.
      • Familiarity with healthcare or insurance applications and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) transaction testing, particularly 837/835 transactions, is preferred.
      • Experience testing applications hosted in Azure and cloud-based environments is a plus.
      • Exposure to Python or JavaScript for advanced testing tools or supporting scripts is beneficial.
      • Working knowledge of Azure DevOps pipelines, Git version control, and API testing is preferred.
      • Must reside in the United States within one of the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Hampshire, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota (CST Time Zone), Tennessee, Texas (CST Time Zone), Vermont, Virginia, Wisconsin, or West Virginia.
      • Must have a quiet, distraction-free home working environment and secure internet connection.
      • Home internet must provide download speeds above 20 Mbps and upload speeds above 10 Mbps, with adequate workspace for workstation equipment.
      • Employment is contingent upon eligibility to work in the United States, employment history verification, and successful completion of a background check.
      • Benefits

        • Remote work within the United States.
        • Full-time employment.
        • Salary and benefits are provided in accordance with the role and applicable employment arrangements.
        • Opportunity to lead and shape QA automation strategy across web and backend applications.
        • Opportunity to mentor QA professionals and establish scalable engineering and testing practices.
        • Collaborative environment working across Engineering, Product, Business Analysis, DevOps, and QA.
        • Opportunity to contribute to high-impact technology initiatives and continuous quality improvement.
