Senior Software Engineer

This is a high-impact technical leadership role focused on shaping how modern software is designed, built, and delivered with AI at the center.

You will combine strong full-stack engineering expertise with architectural leadership across a distributed travel technology platform.

The role offers significant autonomy to make decisions that balance innovation, scalability, security, performance, and business impact.

You will help establish how engineering teams use AI coding agents, from development workflows and prompt libraries to MCP integrations and automated processes.

Working across teams, you will modernize legacy services, strengthen cloud-native architecture, and raise engineering standards.

You will also mentor engineers and influence technical strategy, helping increase development velocity while protecting system reliability and customer data.

Accountabilities

• Architect, design, and develop scalable full-stack features and services while providing technical leadership within product engineering teams.
• Establish organization-wide best practices for AI-assisted and agentic software development, including coding workflows, prompt libraries, and development standards.
• Review and validate AI-generated code for correctness, security, performance, maintainability, and alignment with engineering standards.
• Lead modernization initiatives involving refactoring, migration, distributed system design, and adoption of cloud-native technologies.
• Define agentic workflows that automate and improve testing, documentation, code-review triage, deployment validation, and other engineering processes.
• Design and implement Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations that enable AI agents to securely interact with internal tools, data, and platform services.
• Drive improvements across distributed cloud architecture, development practices, operational processes, and system reliability.
• Establish and support system Service Level Objectives (SLOs), introducing processes that improve delivery speed, feedback cycles, and controlled impact.
• Partner with security and risk stakeholders to protect sensitive customer and member information throughout the technology lifecycle.
• Mentor engineers across teams on AI-assisted development, prompt engineering, agentic workflows, architecture, and modern software engineering practices.
• Influence technical strategy and technology investment decisions by evaluating scalability, risk, innovation, and business value.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in full-stack software development and software architecture, with a proven record of building web applications and services.
• Expert-level professional experience using AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot as part of modern software development workflows.
• Strong proficiency in at least two of TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, or C#/.NET.
• Deep experience with modern frontend technologies and frameworks such as React, Next.js, Vue, or Angular.
• Proven experience architecting and delivering cloud-native solutions using AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Extensive knowledge of RESTful API design, microservices, distributed systems, and scalable application architecture.
• Strong understanding of the Model Context Protocol (MCP), including experience designing or architecting MCP server ecosystems.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical design initiatives, make architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and improve engineering maturity across teams.
• Strong product mindset with the ability to balance technical excellence, customer needs, business priorities, security, and operational considerations.
• High degree of autonomy, ownership, communication, and problem-solving ability in a fast-moving engineering environment.
• A formal degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is beneficial but not required; demonstrated engineering depth and practical experience are valued most.
