Senior software engineer (Fullstack/ Typescript)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Fullstack / TypeScript) based in India.

This role offers the opportunity to build technology that supports frontline teams operating in complex, safety-critical environments. You will contribute across the full software development lifecycle, working on modern web applications and large-scale systems that help users plan work, assess risks, and respond to safety needs. The position combines hands-on engineering with strong ownership, requiring you to navigate ambiguity and turn real-world problems into straightforward digital experiences. You will work with a modern technology stack spanning React, Next.js, TypeScript, APIs, cloud services, messaging, and data platforms. Collaboration, technical quality, customer empathy, and rapid execution are central to the team environment. Your work will have a meaningful impact on helping frontline workers operate more safely and return home safely after every shift.

Accountabilities:

• Take end-to-end ownership of software engineering problems, proactively identifying blockers, addressing missing requirements, and driving solutions through to completion while remaining comfortable revisiting decisions as new information emerges.
• Design, develop, and maintain fullstack solutions using technologies such as React, Next.js, TypeScript, REST APIs, server-driven UI, and unidirectional data-flow patterns, with a strong focus on usability and maintainability.
• Contribute to large-scale and resilient systems using technologies including protocol buffers, gRPC, offline synchronization, WebAssembly, SignalR, Docker Compose, MongoDB, Azure Storage, Redis, and messaging or Pub/Sub platforms.
• Build customer-centric solutions by understanding the needs and working context of frontline users and translating complex operational challenges into simple, reliable, and effective digital experiences.
• Produce high-quality code contributions and well-documented pull requests, participate in code reviews and walkthroughs, and communicate proposed technical changes through clear high-level technical descriptions.
• Work with localization and internationalization requirements to support applications serving users across different regions and operating environments.
• Apply secure authentication and authorization practices using technologies such as OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect, while contributing to resilient, secure, and operationally effective software solutions.
• Use AI-powered coding tools effectively and responsibly, understanding the capabilities and limitations of modern foundation models and coding assistants while maintaining full ownership and accountability for the resulting code.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or another relevant technical discipline, combined with 7+ years of software development experience across backend engineering, web frontend development, and large-scale systems.
• Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript, React, and preferably Next.js, together with an understanding of unidirectional data-flow architectures and modern frontend engineering practices.
• Experience working with distributed or large-scale systems and technologies such as REST APIs, gRPC, protocol buffers, messaging systems, Pub/Sub, Redis, MongoDB, cloud storage, Docker, and offline synchronization.
• Knowledge of server-driven UI, localization and internationalization, WebAssembly, SignalR, OAuth 2.0, and OpenID Connect, with the ability to apply these technologies appropriately in production environments.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including secure development, database design and NoSQL data modeling, configuration and release management, continuous deployment, service resiliency, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments where there may be no established best-practice solution, while remaining pragmatic and focused on delivering outcomes.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with other engineers, contribute constructively to technical discussions, review code, and communicate complex technical decisions clearly.
• A hands-on mindset, high ownership, customer orientation, and willingness to work at pace are essential, along with the ability to use emerging technologies and AI development tools thoughtfully and productively.
