Jobgether is a Belgian recruitment platform built entirely around remote and flexible work, aggregating openings from thousands of employers that allow work from outside an office. Its matching engine ranks roles against a candidate's skills, seniority and stated preferences on location and flexibility, rather than leaving people to filter a keyword search, and it verifies how genuinely remote each posting is. The company also runs an AI screening layer that shortlists applicants for employers, and publishes research and guidance on distributed work practices alongside the job marketplace itself.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Statutory Reporting Accountant based in the United States.

This remote role offers an opportunity to play a key part in statutory financial reporting within a growing healthcare and insurance environment. You’ll support the preparation of accurate, timely financial statements and regulatory filings across multiple jurisdictions. The position combines statutory accounting, financial analysis, reconciliations, regulatory compliance, and process improvement. You’ll work closely with the Statutory Reporting and Finance teams while contributing to important initiatives such as reinsurance accounting and reporting automation. The role requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage competing priorities during demanding reporting cycles. You’ll also have opportunities to improve systems, reporting processes, and the use of technology across statutory reporting activities. This is a strong fit for a hands-on accounting professional who thrives in a complex, evolving, and deadline-driven environment.

Accountabilities:

    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual statutory financial statements for submission to the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) and applicable state regulatory authorities.
    • Prepare supplemental statutory filings required by state regulators and ensure all submissions are accurate, complete, and delivered within established deadlines.
    • Support state Department or Division of Insurance audits by preparing schedules, responding to inquiries, providing documentation, and meeting audit deadlines.
    • Assist with the development and testing of NetSuite and other ad hoc reports used to support monthly, quarterly, and annual statutory financial reporting.
    • Prepare and submit statutory filings using appropriate regulatory and vendor software, coordinating submissions to the NAIC and individual states.
    • Assist with the review of statutory financial statements and supplemental filings as needed.
    • Lead and participate in ad hoc Statutory Reporting and Finance projects, including initiatives related to reinsurance accounting.
    • Support reinsurance accounting activities from implementation through ongoing reporting.
    • Assist with financial reconciliations, process enhancements, and other critical statutory accounting and reporting initiatives.
    • Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, operational efficiency, data collection, and financial controls.
    • Apply strong analytical skills to identify issues, determine appropriate actions, and deliver accurate results.
    • Maintain thorough documentation and follow established policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
    • Maintain strict confidentiality when handling financial and other sensitive information.
    • Work additional hours when necessary during peak monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting periods.
    • Requirements

      • Demonstrated experience in reinsurance accounting, including implementation and reporting.
      • Advanced Excel proficiency, including the ability to work with complex formulas and large financial datasets.
      • Proven track record of delivering results in a changing and complex financial reporting environment.
      • Strong understanding of statutory accounting and financial reporting processes.
      • Hands-on experience with NetSuite ERP and Workiva (Wdesk) is a significant plus.
      • Experience with healthcare and/or insurance organizations is preferred.
      • Experience reviewing statutory filings is preferred.
      • Exposure to AI tools used to automate complex financial reconciliations, improve statutory filing accuracy, or streamline data collection across multiple jurisdictions is preferred.
      • Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills with exceptional attention to detail.
      • Ability to manage multiple demands independently while consistently meeting strict deadlines.
      • Self-starter with strong initiative and the ability to identify actions needed to complete tasks and achieve results.
      • Collaborative team player with a customer-service mindset and the ability to work effectively across functions.
      • Ability to operate successfully in a fast-paced environment focused on continuous process and operational improvement.
      • Strong ethical standards and commitment to maintaining confidentiality in accordance with professional and regulatory requirements.
      • Hands-on approach with the ability to contribute immediately and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
      • Benefits

        • Annual salary range of $80,000-$100,000, with the actual offer based on qualifications, relevant experience, skills, education, certifications or licenses, and work location.
        • Fully remote work arrangement within the United States.
        • Employer-sponsored health, dental, and vision plans with low or no employee premium.
        • Generous paid time off.
        • $100 monthly mobile or internet stipend.
