This part-time role is an opportunity for an experienced developer to shape and modernize enterprise SharePoint solutions in a fully remote environment.
You’ll serve as a technical subject matter expert across SharePoint Online, SPFx, and the Microsoft Power Platform.
The role combines hands-on development with technical guidance, troubleshooting, and solution architecture.
You’ll collaborate with project managers, business stakeholders, developers, and technical teams to turn business needs into scalable digital solutions.
Your work will support intuitive, secure, accessible, and maintainable applications across the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
With 15-20 hours per week and no required travel, the position offers flexibility while relying on a high degree of autonomy.
It’s well suited to a seasoned SharePoint professional who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and improving enterprise digital experiences.
Accountabilities
- Serve as a subject matter expert for SharePoint and Power Platform, supporting developers and strategic delivery teams with technical guidance and expertise.
- Develop, customize, modernize, and maintain SharePoint Online solutions using SharePoint Framework (SPFx).
- Build responsive, intuitive SharePoint pages, components, and custom web parts using modern development practices.
- Create business applications and automated processes using Power Apps and Power Automate.
- Develop data visualizations and reporting solutions using Power BI.
- Integrate SharePoint with Microsoft 365 services and other enterprise platforms as required.
- Design and implement scalable technical solutions based on stakeholder requirements and business objectives.
- Troubleshoot SharePoint technical issues, configuration problems, integration challenges, and performance concerns.
- Work with project managers, business stakeholders, developers, and technical teams throughout the solution lifecycle.
- Apply best practices for SharePoint governance, security, accessibility, performance, and long-term maintainability.
- Document technical designs, workflows, architecture, configurations, and implementation approaches.
- Provide guidance and support to delivery managers and other SharePoint developers as needed.
- Contribute to assigned development projects as well as ad hoc technical initiatives.
- Work independently in a part-time environment while consistently delivering high-quality, reliable solutions.
- 5+ years of professional experience as a SharePoint Developer or in a closely related role.
- Strong hands-on experience with SharePoint Online and SPFx development.
- Proficiency with React, TypeScript, and Node.js in modern SharePoint development environments.
- Demonstrated experience developing applications with Power Apps.
- Experience designing and implementing automated workflows using Power Automate.
- Experience creating data visualizations and reporting solutions with Power BI.
- Strong understanding of SharePoint architecture, including permissions, lists, libraries, and site collections.
- Experience with Angular, REST APIs, Microsoft Graph, and integrations across Microsoft 365.
- Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into practical, scalable technical solutions.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently while managing priorities in a part-time role.
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale SharePoint environments is preferred.
- Familiarity with Azure Functions or other Azure services is a plus.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- No security clearance is required for this position.
