Software Engineer - Nodejs

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Software Engineer - Node.js based in India.

As a Software Engineer, you will build scalable, high-performance applications and services that support modern digital products and enterprise platforms.

You will take ownership across the development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and architecture through implementation, testing, and deployment.

The role combines strong backend engineering with experience across web and mobile technologies, giving you the opportunity to work on diverse product capabilities.

You will develop reliable microservices, user-facing features, notification workflows, and resilient client-side experiences.

You will collaborate closely with engineers, designers, managers, and client stakeholders in an agile, globally distributed environment.

Beyond delivery, you will contribute to engineering practices, mentor colleagues, and help establish scalable technical solutions and standards.

Accountabilities:

• Communicate effectively with client project stakeholders, providing clear updates on project progress, technical considerations, and recommendations.
• Design, develop, test, and deliver high-quality software that is performant, scalable, secure, maintainable, and production-ready.
• Participate in project planning, estimation, requirements gathering, and feature definition using established methodologies and tools.
• Present completed features and solutions to clients and relevant stakeholders.
• Independently drive software delivery from conceptualization and design through implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing improvement.
• Develop and ship user-facing and operational capabilities, including onboarding workflows, roster views, attendance functionality, and administrative dashboards.
• Translate design tokens and high-fidelity wireframes into accurate, responsive interfaces using web and mobile component libraries.
• Build reliable notification workflows using idempotent triggers and event-driven scheduled tasks across channels such as push notifications, SMS, and WhatsApp.
• Develop client-side view models capable of safely queuing user actions using unique idempotency keys, particularly in environments with unreliable connectivity.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation, metadata, and repository context as features and integrations evolve.
• Participate actively in agile ceremonies, including stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and other team governance activities.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and managers to identify user pain points, anticipate technical challenges, and iterate on solutions that improve client outcomes.
• Contribute to engineering communities and Communities of Practice by sharing knowledge and mentoring other engineers.
• Apply established architecture, design, quality, and security standards consistently across engagements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering capabilities, development practices, and technical decision-making.

Requirements:

• Have 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with strong expertise in Node.js as the primary technology.
• Demonstrate strong hands-on experience with Node.js, TypeScript, Express, TypeORM, and class-validator for developing production-grade microservices.
• Have practical experience with React and React Native, including web and mobile application development.
• Be experienced with Docker, PostgreSQL, and local development environment setup.
• Demonstrate experience designing, developing, and implementing large-volume, highly available enterprise applications.
• Have strong knowledge of exception handling, data structures, multithreaded programming, memory management, and application performance tuning.
• Possess excellent experience with unit testing, particularly using Jest.
• Understand software design patterns and be able to apply them appropriately to scalable enterprise systems.
• Have hands-on experience with relational databases such as Oracle or SQL Server, including writing SQL queries and working with joins, views, GROUP BY, and HAVING clauses.
• Demonstrate strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming principles, including abstraction and encapsulation.
• Apply SOLID principles and sound software design practices in day-to-day development.
• Have experience developing well-tested, scalable, performant, enterprise-level systems.
• Demonstrate familiarity with high-level architecture and design approaches such as UML, C4, or ArchiMate.
• Have experience working with Agile software development methodologies.
• Possess familiarity with OWASP and secure software development principles.
• Demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Be able to manage multiple priorities and deliver effectively under deadlines and changing project requirements.
• Have the ability and willingness to mentor engineers and contribute to the development of technical capabilities across the organization.
• Be proficient in English, both written and spoken.
