Solution Architect – Cloud, Applications & Infrastructure

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Solution Architect - Cloud, Applications & Infrastructure based in United States.

This role offers the opportunity to provide strategic and technical leadership across complex enterprise technology environments.

You will shape secure, scalable, and resilient architectures spanning cloud platforms, applications, and infrastructure.

The position plays a key role in cloud adoption, application modernization, and broader infrastructure transformation initiatives.

You will translate business requirements and technical constraints into practical, end-to-end architecture solutions.

Working across business, development, infrastructure, and security teams, you will help drive initiatives from design through delivery.

The role also involves guiding cloud migrations, integration strategies, performance optimization, and architecture governance.

It is well suited to an experienced architect who combines broad technical expertise with strong stakeholder leadership and delivery skills.

Accountabilities

• Define, maintain, and govern end-to-end solution architectures covering applications, infrastructure, and cloud environments.
• Develop technical architectures that balance business requirements, technical constraints, enterprise standards, security, compliance, and regulatory obligations.
• Lead cloud migration strategies for applications and infrastructure transitioning from on-premise environments to public, hybrid, or cloud-native platforms.
• Design and evaluate architectures across Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform, selecting appropriate technologies and approaches based on business and technical needs.
• Lead the modernization of infrastructure components, including compute, storage, networking, and virtualization environments.
• Design application architectures using microservices, APIs, distributed systems, and modern development patterns.
• Define integration patterns that enable reliable interoperability between applications, systems, and platforms.
• Design solutions for high availability, fault tolerance, resilience, business continuity, and disaster recovery.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, infrastructure teams, and other technical specialists to translate requirements into effective architecture solutions.
• Assess existing and proposed solutions for performance, scalability, security, and cost efficiency, recommending improvements where appropriate.
• Lead cross-functional architecture initiatives from initial design through implementation and delivery.
• Maintain comprehensive architecture documentation, technical blueprints, governance artifacts, migration plans, and enterprise repository records.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Proven experience working as a Solution Architect across both cloud and on-premise enterprise environments.
• Strong experience designing and delivering cloud-based application and infrastructure solutions.
• Demonstrated experience with major cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, and/or Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong experience planning and executing complex application and infrastructure migrations from on-premise environments to public cloud platforms.
• Hands-on development experience with technologies such as Java, Python, .NET, or Node.js.
• Solid understanding of application integration, APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Strong knowledge of networking, virtualization, storage, infrastructure, and security concepts.
• Experience applying DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery approaches.
• Ability to develop architecture standards, technical documentation, governance materials, and implementation plans.
• Strong understanding of security, compliance, regulatory, availability, disaster recovery, and resilience requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives from architecture design through delivery.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate technical trade-offs and make sound architectural decisions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and business audiences.
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or an equivalent certification is preferred.
• AWS or Google Cloud certifications are considered an asset, as are additional certifications in networking, security, or infrastructure.
• As this is a consulting/subcontractor opportunity, the successful professional must be incorporated and able to provide services through their own corporation.
