Tech Lead Full Stack

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Tech Lead Full Stack based in Brazil.

This is an opportunity to provide technical leadership within a product-focused technology environment that combines software engineering with human behavior insights.

You will lead a development team while remaining hands-on in designing and building scalable full-stack applications.

The role spans architecture, technical decision-making, mentoring, code quality, delivery, and collaboration with Product.

You will work primarily with TypeScript, Node.js, React, distributed architectures, and AWS-based infrastructure.

The position also offers exposure to AI technologies, Python, and vector databases, with opportunities to introduce meaningful innovation into products.

You will have significant autonomy to shape engineering practices, improve technical standards, and guide the evolution of the platform.

This role is ideal for a senior engineer who combines strong technical depth with leadership, communication, and a pragmatic product mindset.

Accountabilities:

• Lead the development team technically by establishing engineering standards, technical direction, development practices, and a strong culture of code review.
• Mentor developers, support their technical growth, and promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across the team.
• Drive architectural decisions in AWS, evaluating trade-offs related to scalability, reliability, performance, and maintainability.
• Participate in business and product refinements, assessing the technical feasibility of requirements and recommending appropriate implementation approaches.
• Break down and technically refine development demands, helping prioritize work and allocate developers according to project needs and technical complexity.
• Ensure a consistent development lifecycle from implementation and code review through testing, homologation, and production deployment.
• Remain hands-on in building applications using TypeScript, Node.js, NestJS, Express, and React/React Native Web.
• Design and implement distributed platform architectures involving microservices, messaging, caching, Pub/Sub, APIs, and scheduled jobs or cronjobs.
• Work with relational and non-relational databases, contributing to data architecture and application performance.
• Collaborate with Product and other stakeholders to ensure technical decisions remain aligned with business objectives and user needs.
• Monitor the evolution of the technology ecosystem, including AI, and identify opportunities where new technologies can deliver measurable value to products.
• Promote engineering best practices such as Clean Code, Design Patterns, maintainable architecture, automated quality practices, and effective technical documentation.

Requirements:

• Solid professional experience with TypeScript and Node.js, particularly NestJS and Express.
• Strong hands-on experience developing web applications with React, ideally including React Native Web.
• Experience working with both relational and non-relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
• Familiarity with GraphQL, preferably through Hasura.
• Strong understanding of distributed architectures and their components, including microservices, messaging, caching, Pub/Sub, APIs, and jobs/cronjobs.
• Practical understanding of AWS infrastructure, cloud architecture, and the considerations involved in building scalable applications.
• Strong knowledge of software engineering best practices, including Clean Code and Design Patterns.
• Experience conducting technical refinements, code reviews, architectural discussions, and the complete development-to-production workflow.
• Practical experience working with Agile methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban, and collaborating closely with Product teams.
• Previous experience providing technical leadership, mentoring developers, or guiding engineering teams is highly valued.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work autonomously while maintaining strong collaboration and ownership within a team environment.
• Experience with Python, particularly in AI-related applications, is a strong differentiator.
• Experience with vector databases, such as Pinecone or OpenSearch, is considered an advantage.
• A combination of technical depth, leadership capability, and a pragmatic approach to product development is highly valued.
