Tech Leader

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Tech Leader based in Mexico.

This is a high-impact opportunity to build and lead the technology function of a rapidly growing direct-to-consumer business in Latin America. You will initially operate as an individual contributor, gaining a deep understanding of the business, customers, and technology landscape. From there, you will have the opportunity to build and lead a technology team as the organization scales. You will help shape the digital roadmap, improve e-commerce capabilities, and enable teams across the business through technology. The role combines hands-on technical problem-solving with strategic thinking, analytics, automation, and process creation. Success will require strong ownership, entrepreneurial thinking, adaptability, and a relentless focus on measurable outcomes.

Accountabilities

• Build and execute the technology roadmap, helping define the digital transformation priorities for the product and wider business.
• Enable teams across the organization to use technology effectively, acting as both the owner of the technology function and a collaborative change agent for other departments.
• Establish the foundations of a scalable technology function, including processes, tools, standards, and ways of working that support rapid business growth.
• Initially operate as an individual contributor while learning the business, with the opportunity to build, lead, and motivate a technology team as the organization expands.
• Implement telemetry, analytics, and reporting solutions that provide visibility into user and customer behavior and generate actionable insights for different areas of the business.
• Develop comprehensive business dashboards covering operational, financial, growth, cultural, and other key health metrics, helping leadership connect performance with launches and strategic decisions.
• Automate website and digital-product monitoring, alerting, and reliability processes to minimize downtime, technical issues, lost orders, and negative customer experiences.
• Improve the reliability, scalability, and overall performance of e-commerce and digital platforms.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify opportunities where technology can improve efficiency, customer experience, and business results.
• Support the implementation of the digital roadmap and continuously evaluate new technologies, tools, and approaches that can create measurable value.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in technology, software development, digital products, or a closely related field.
• Strong knowledge of modern web technologies, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience implementing and integrating REST APIs and JSON-based services.
• Working knowledge of at least one server-side programming language, such as JavaScript or Python, with a solution-oriented mindset and willingness to adapt rather than focusing on a specific technology stack.
• Experience with Git and modern version-control practices.
• Strong understanding of e-commerce platforms and digital products; experience with Shopify is particularly valuable.
• Experience implementing business analytics services and transforming data into useful reports, dashboards, and insights for non-technical teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in remote and asynchronous working environments.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a high degree of ownership, flexibility, proactivity, and comfort operating in an evolving environment.
• Ability to create processes, prioritize effectively, adapt to change, and connect technology initiatives to measurable business KPIs.
• Experience working cross-functionally and communicating technical concepts and opportunities clearly to business stakeholders.
• Experience building or leading technology teams, preferably in a startup or high-growth environment, is a strong advantage.
• Additional experience with automated web testing, monitoring and alerting tools, business continuity, WordPress, full-stack development, SEO, A/B testing, or e-commerce is a plus.
• Experience or interest in direct-to-consumer businesses and the beauty and wellness sector is also valued.
• A personal portfolio or examples of relevant projects are welcome.
