The Technology Director, MarTech will lead strategic and technical initiatives that connect marketing objectives with sophisticated technology ecosystems.
This senior role combines client advisory, hands-on MarTech expertise, organizational change leadership, and business development.
You will guide clients through complex MarTech transformations, from architecture and implementation to adoption and optimization.
Working across technology, data, analytics, commerce, CRM, and marketing disciplines, you will shape connected customer experiences.
You will build trusted relationships with senior and executive stakeholders while translating business challenges into scalable technical solutions.
The role also provides an opportunity to lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams while influencing innovation across a global agency environment.

Accountabilities:
- Lead the strategic direction of MarTech-powered connected experiences, ensuring technology solutions align with client business and marketing objectives.
- Represent the organization's technical capabilities with clients and senior stakeholders, developing trusted relationships with executive and marketing leadership.
- Lead organizational change initiatives within large, matrixed client environments, helping teams adopt new MarTech capabilities, processes, and operating models.
- Partner with Data & Analytics and Platforms teams to develop comprehensive MarTech architectures and integrated technology roadmaps.
- Lead cross-practice and cross-functional technical initiatives that promote innovation, collaboration, efficiency, and high-quality delivery.
- Evolve MarTech audit methodologies and reference architectures, leveraging proprietary tools and AI capabilities to accelerate solution development and time to market.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership across MarTech initiatives, guiding teams through platform implementation, optimization, integration, migration, and troubleshooting.
- Oversee the configuration and optimization of MarTech platforms, including customer data platforms, marketing automation, messaging, analytics, content, and commerce technologies.
- Guide teams in building customer journey automations, trigger-based campaigns, advanced segmentation, data flows, identity resolution, and real-time synchronization between platforms.
- Oversee technical implementations involving APIs, custom templates, tracking frameworks, platform migrations, integration documentation, attribution models, A/B testing, and automated reporting.
- Ensure technical audits and MarTech health checks identify risks, opportunities, and improvements across client ecosystems.
- Mentor Architects, Principals, and Analysts, aligning individual development with organizational priorities and supporting the growth of high-performing teams.
- Partner with resource management teams on workforce planning, talent allocation, and team development.
- Support business development and qualified MarTech opportunities by developing proposals and scopes, leading pre-sales activities, and contributing technical expertise throughout the pitch process.
- Establish and maintain strong client partnerships while identifying opportunities to expand engagements and deliver additional value.
- Drive alignment across marketing, data, analytics, engineering, and delivery teams in complex multi-workstream environments.
- 8+ years of hands-on MarTech experience combining strategic consulting, technical implementation, and client architecture leadership.
- Extensive experience working across MarTech ecosystems, including customer data platforms such as Segment, Hightouch, mParticle, Tealium, or AEP; marketing automation platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, HubSpot, or Marketo; messaging platforms such as Iterable, Braze, Klaviyo, Mailchimp, or Adobe Campaign; and analytics platforms such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, or Mixpanel.
- 4+ years of client-facing business development experience, including pre-sales, technical proposals, solution scoping, and pitch leadership.
- Demonstrated experience leading organizational change within large or matrixed organizations, with a strong understanding of the people, processes, and mechanisms required for successful MarTech adoption.
- Strong strategic consulting and client advisory capabilities, with the ability to translate complex business challenges into practical, high-value MarTech strategies and roadmaps.
- Proven ability to lead complex, multi-workstream programs involving marketing, data, analytics, engineering, and delivery teams.
- Strong commercial and technical judgment, with the ability to balance long-term strategic objectives with hands-on execution requirements.
- Demonstrated experience building and developing high-performing technical teams and mentoring senior technical professionals.
- Excellent executive communication and presentation skills, with the ability to move comfortably between strategic discussions and detailed technical conversations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management capabilities, with a focus on delivering measurable client outcomes.
- Ability to lead through influence, build consensus, and maintain alignment across stakeholders without relying solely on direct authority.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment where priorities evolve and innovative approaches are encouraged.
- Competitive U.S. remote salary range of $154,700-$210,000 USD, with compensation determined by relevant experience, expertise, physical location, organizational impact, and role level.
