This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Vendor Management Specialist based in India.
This role offers the opportunity to manage and strengthen vendor partnerships supporting innovative Physical AI and specialized data operations programs. You will oversee external partners involved in collecting complex, real-world datasets, including first-person perspective, sensor-tagged spatial, and activity-based data. The position combines vendor management, operational coordination, data quality oversight, and cross-functional collaboration. You will work closely with internal data science and product teams to translate data requirements into effective vendor delivery plans. The role also involves coordinating multi-site and multi-country engagements while maintaining high standards for data quality, coverage, licensing, and provenance. It is well suited to a detail-oriented professional who enjoys working at the intersection of technology, data operations, and global partner management.
Accountabilities:
- Manage vendor partnerships supporting Physical AI data collection programs, ensuring external partners understand operational requirements, timelines, and expected deliverables.
- Coordinate with vendors involved in egocentric or first-person POV data capture, sensor-tagged spatial data, and real-world activity dataset collection.
- Assess off-the-shelf data offerings against project requirements, evaluating fitness-for-purpose, licensing constraints, data provenance, and overall suitability.
- Coordinate multi-site and multi-country data collection engagements, ensuring programs achieve required levels of quality, geographic coverage, and demographic representation.
- Serve as the operational bridge between internal data science and product teams and external vendor partners throughout the data collection lifecycle.
- Translate internal data requirements into clear vendor instructions covering collection protocols, tooling, quality expectations, and delivery timelines.
- Monitor vendor performance and coordinate issue resolution to ensure data collection activities remain aligned with project objectives and schedules.
- Support effective communication across multiple stakeholders, maintaining visibility into vendor progress, risks, dependencies, and delivery requirements.
- Help identify opportunities to improve vendor operations, data collection processes, and partnership effectiveness as programs evolve.
- Demonstrated experience in vendor management, supplier operations, data operations, program coordination, or a closely related field.
- Experience working with external vendors or partners and managing operational relationships across multiple stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of data collection processes and the ability to evaluate whether datasets meet defined business or technical requirements.
- Familiarity with data licensing, provenance, quality considerations, and fitness-for-purpose assessment is highly valuable.
- Experience coordinating projects across multiple locations, markets, or countries, ideally within technology, AI, data, or digital operations environments.
- Strong organizational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple vendors, deliverables, timelines, and priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to communicate technical and operational requirements clearly to both internal teams and external partners.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a structured approach to assessing vendor capabilities and resolving delivery challenges.
- Comfortable collaborating with data science, product, engineering, and other cross-functional teams.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality, coverage, consistency, and delivery standards.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment where requirements and operational priorities may evolve.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build productive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in AI data operations, Physical AI, machine learning datasets, computer vision, sensor data, or related domains would be an advantage.
- Fully remote working arrangement from India.
- Full-time opportunity supporting innovative AI and specialized data operations programs.
- Exposure to emerging Physical AI and real-world data collection initiatives.
- Opportunity to work with international vendor partners across multiple markets and locations.
- Cross-functional collaboration with data science, product, and technology teams.
- Professional growth opportunities within a technology-driven and rapidly evolving environment.
- Opportunity to contribute to projects focused on building high-quality datasets for advanced AI applications.
- Experience working across global data operations and vendor ecosystems.
