Xstore Development Consultant

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Xstore Development Consultant based in India.

This is a senior Oracle Retail XStore development role focused on designing, implementing, and customizing enterprise-grade POS solutions for global retail environments.

You will work across the XStore architecture, UI, transaction workflows, integrations, and supporting retail technologies.

The role combines hands-on development with solution design, fit-gap analysis, troubleshooting, code reviews, and production support.

You will translate complex business requirements into scalable technical implementations that support critical store operations.

A key focus will be integrating XStore with ERP, inventory, pricing, loyalty, customer, payment, and omnichannel platforms.

You will also support testing, deployments, upgrades, migrations, store rollouts, and post-production stabilization.

Accountabilities:

• Design, develop, implement, and customize Oracle Retail XStore POS solutions for complex retail environments.
• Apply strong knowledge of XStore architecture, XStore Office, POSLog, Extension Framework, business components, event listeners, and transaction workflows.
• Translate business requirements into scalable functional and technical XStore solutions.
• Perform solution design and contribute to technical architecture decisions for XStore implementations and enhancements.
• Conduct fit-gap analysis to identify differences between business requirements and standard platform capabilities.
• Design and implement XStore customizations aligned with retail business processes and technical standards.
• Develop and enhance XStore JET UI components, including screens, forms, dashboards, and user experience features.
• Improve POS user experiences by delivering intuitive and efficient UI enhancements.
• Develop and maintain integrations using Java, Spring Framework, REST APIs, SOAP services, XML, JSON, SQL, and Oracle Database technologies.
• Design and develop integrations between XStore and ERP, Inventory, Pricing, Loyalty, Customer, Payment, and Omnichannel platforms.
• Support retail processes including sales, returns, exchanges, promotions, loyalty, inventory, and store operations.
• Perform impact assessments to understand the technical and business implications of proposed changes.
• Conduct code reviews and promote maintainable, scalable, and high-quality development practices.
• Troubleshoot application issues, investigate root causes, and resolve defects across development and production environments.
• Provide production support and participate in incident resolution and post-production stabilization activities.
• Support SIT, UAT, deployments, upgrades, migrations, store rollouts, hypercare, and production stabilization.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, technical teams, and global delivery teams to ensure successful solution implementation.
• Communicate technical concepts, solution options, risks, and dependencies clearly to stakeholders.
• Contribute to XStore modernization and transformation initiatives, including platform upgrades and large-scale retail technology programs.
• Support continuous improvement of XStore solutions, development practices, and operational processes.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of IT experience with substantial hands-on experience in Oracle Retail XStore POS development.
• Strong professional experience delivering Oracle Retail XStore development, implementation, and customization engagements.
• Deep understanding of XStore architecture and related components, including XStore Office, POSLog, Extension Framework, business components, event listeners, and transaction workflows.
• Proven ability to translate business requirements into functional and technical XStore implementations.
• Hands-on experience with XStore JET UI customization, including screens, forms, dashboards, and user experience enhancements.
• Strong programming experience with Java and Spring Framework.
• Experience developing and consuming REST APIs and SOAP services.
• Strong knowledge of XML, JSON, SQL, and Oracle Database technologies.
• Experience designing and implementing integrations between XStore and enterprise retail platforms.
• Understanding of integrations involving ERP, inventory, pricing, loyalty, customer, payment, and omnichannel systems.
• Strong understanding of retail business processes, including sales, returns, exchanges, promotions, loyalty, inventory, and store operations.
• Experience performing solution design, fit-gap analysis, impact assessment, code reviews, troubleshooting, and defect resolution.
• Proven experience supporting production environments and resolving complex technical issues.
• Experience with SIT, UAT, deployments, upgrades, migrations, store rollouts, hypercare, and post-production stabilization.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and experience collaborating with technical and business stakeholders in global retail environments.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical solutions clearly.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote environment with distributed global teams.

Preferred skills:

• Experience with Oracle Retail XStore upgrades and modernization programs.
• Strong knowledge of POSLog and related retail transaction technologies.
• Experience with DTX messaging.
• Experience with XOCS/SIOCS integrations.
• Experience contributing to large-scale retail transformation initiatives.
• Exposure to complex global retail implementations and multi-store technology rollouts.
