In this role, you will oversee AML/CFT frameworks, manage suspicious activity reporting, ensure regulatory compliance, and act as the primary point of contact for regulators and internal stakeholders.\nThis is an office-based role with flexible working hours, offering a salary of up to €70K.\nRole & Responsibilities\nAct as the appointed MLRO with responsibility for the oversight of the Company’s AML/CFT controls and framework\n\nEnsure AML/CFT policies and procedures are effectively applied, kept up to date, and in line with relevant regulatory requirements and guidance\n\nAssess and approve client onboarding files, including due diligence checks and risk evaluations\n\nKeep track of regulatory updates and propose necessary amendments to internal policies and procedures\n\nReview AML/CFT control effectiveness and introduce enhancements where required\n\nHandle, assess, and escalate SARs in accordance with reporting obligations\n\nProduce periodic reports for senior management and the Board covering AML/CFT matters\n\nOffer ongoing support and regulatory advice to internal teams\n\nConduct training sessions and promote awareness of AML/CFT responsibilities across the organisation\n\nAct as liaison with regulators and assist with compliance reviews and audit processes\n\nMaintain and update the Company’s Business Risk Assessment, Jurisdiction Risk Assessment, and Sanctions Risk Assessment\n\nPrepare and submit the Company’s Yearly Risk Evaluation Questionnaire\n\nEducation, Skills & Experience\nBachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, or a related field\n\n5+ years experience in an MLRO or senior AML/CFT role within corporate or financial services in Malta\n\nExcellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken\n\nProfessionally qualified or currently working towards a recognised qualification\n\nPreviously PQ’d by the MFSA - non-negotiable\n\nStrong understanding of MFSA regulations and Maltese AML/CFT legislation\n\nAbility to work independently while providing sound regulatory guidance to senior stakeholders\n\nStrong communication and stakeholder management skills\n\nAbout the role\nCompetitive salary up to €70K, based on experience\n\nOffice-based in Floriana with flexible working hours\n\nOpportunities for career growth and professional development\n\nApply with your detailed CV.\n*JobMatchingPartner Limited is a recruitment agency licenced in Malta, EU with licence no EA00340-2024.
