You’ll implement and maintain event schemas and data models across services, review AI-generated and peer code for correctness and maintainability, and take part in design discussions, root-cause analysis and production issue resolution. You’ll work closely with product and engineering peers to clarify requirements, switch between languages and codebases as priorities shift, and contribute to the internal tools and integrations.\nResponsibilities\nBuild backend services and event-driven integrations as part of a team, paired with a senior engineer\n\nImplement and maintain event schemas and data models across services\n\nReview AI-generated and peer code for correctness, maintainability and data accuracy\n\nWork with product and engineering peers to clarify requirements before and during implementation\n\nTake part in design discussions, root-cause analysis and production issue resolution\n\nSwitch between languages and codebases as priorities shift\n\nContribute to internal tools and integrations that support Viper's provisioning, installation and monitoring\n\nKey Requirements\n4+ years of professional software development experience building production backend services\n\n3+ years of professional backend development experience in Go. Plus hands-on experience with at least one of the following: .NET or Node.js.\n\nFrontend experience with Vue (preferred) or another JavaScript framework such as React, Angular or TypeScript-based stacks\n\nProduction experience with AWS services: Lambda, S3, EKS and CloudFront.\n\nProfessional experience with Kafka or equivalent event streaming platforms, including topic design and consumer scaling.\n\nHands-on experience building and consuming GraphQL APIs with Apollo or Hasura.\n\nStrong relational data modeling with working experience in both relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases.\n\nExperience implementing observability and monitoring with Datadog or equivalent APM tooling.\n\nExperience building and maintaining Jenkins CI/CD pipelines.\n\nPractical use of AI coding
