Product Designer

We are looking for a Product Designer who wants to do much more than create beautiful interfaces. You will be the sole product designer, working directly with the founders, engineering, and business teams to shape the product experience from the ground up. You will own design end-to-end, from understanding customer problems and defining solutions to designing, shipping, and measuring their impact.

This role combines design with product thinking. You should enjoy speaking to customers, understanding their workflows, challenging assumptions, and translating insights into simple, intuitive experiences. You will have significant autonomy and the opportunity to shape a fast-growing product used by businesses across Bharat.

The core responsibilities for the job include the following:

Product Discovery and Customer Understanding:

• Speak with customers regularly to understand their workflows, pain points, and expectations.
• Understand how small businesses across Bharat manage collections and identify opportunities to simplify their operations.
• Use customer interviews, feedback, and product data to identify problems worth solving.
• Develop a deep understanding of the product and advocate for customer needs.

Product Design and Execution:

• Own the end-to-end design process, from problem discovery and user journeys to wireframes, prototypes, and final UI.
• Design simple, intuitive, and accessible experiences for complex financial workflows.
• Collaborate with founders and engineering teams to define product requirements, prioritize features, and deliver solutions.
• Own design quality end-to-end as the sole product designer, building and evolving the product's design language as it scales.
• Analyze product usage and relevant metrics after launch to evaluate feature effectiveness and continuously improve the user experience.

AI-Native Design:

• Leverage AI tools for research, ideation, prototyping, and design exploration.
• Use AI to accelerate the journey from ideas to functional prototypes and continuously improve design workflows.

Requirements:

• We are looking for candidates with 2+ years of product design experience and a strong portfolio demonstrating their problem-solving process, product thinking, and shipped work.
• Strong design fundamentals: A solid understanding of interaction design, visual hierarchy, information architecture, and usability.
• Product thinking: You care about why a feature should exist, not just how it looks.
• Customer empathy: You enjoy speaking to users and understanding their problems firsthand.
• Data-driven mindset: You are comfortable using product data to evaluate design decisions and measure outcomes after launch.
• End-to-end ownership: You can independently take a problem from discovery to design, execution, and iteration.
• Strong collaboration: You can communicate design decisions clearly and work effectively with founders and engineering.
• AI-native mindset: You actively leverage AI tools to research, design, prototype, and build faster.
