The Cook ensures all tasks are completed in accordance with safety, sanitation, and food-handling policies and procedures while meeting St. Joe Hospitality standards.\n\nPrimary Responsibilities & Essential Functions\n\nPrepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and supervisor instructions\nSet up and break down assigned stations and ensure they are ready for service\nAssist with ingredient preparation, including washing, peeling, cutting, and chopping as needed\nMaintain proper cooking temperatures, times, and techniques to ensure consistency and quality\nTransfer ingredients and supplies to and from storage areas and coolers, ensuring proper storage, labeling, rotations, and inventory handling to prevent loss or waste\nMaintain overall cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including but not limited to equipment, prep areas, utensils, workstations, and storage\nPreform routine and deep cleaning and sanitations tasks, and trash removal as required\nAssist with unloading, organizing, and storing food deliveries\nMaintain St. Joe Hospitality standards for safety and sanitation while meeting or exceeding local, state, and federal health and safety regulations\nMaintain a general knowledge of guest offerings to answer basic questions when needed\nReport equipment issues, safety hazards, or maintenance concerns immediately\nAttend scheduled meetings and trainings and contribute suggestions for improvement\nPerform other duties as assigned\n\nQualifications\n\nEducation and Experience\n\nAbility to read product labels and communicate basic job-related information\nBasic knowledge of kitchen operations and safe food handling\nPrevious kitchen or culinary experience in a hotel, resort, or restaurant\nCulinary coursework or certification\nServSafe certification (may be obtained after hire)\n\nKnowledge, Skills, Abilities\n\nAbility to work efficiently and safely in a fast-paced environment\nAbility to work well as part of a team and follow directions\nComfort using knives and kitchen equipment safely\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness\nAbility to maintain professionalism and interact with guests in a friendly manner\nAbility to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks\n\nPhysical Demands\n\nAbility to lift up to 50 lbs\nAbility to stand for the entire shift\nFrequent walking, bending, lifting, and carrying\nAbility to carry trays of food or supplies\n\nWorking Conditions\n\nIndoor kitchen environment\nExposure to heat, noise, and a fast-paced setting\nOccasional prolonged visual attention\n\nThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not an exclusive list of all duties and responsibilities.
