The role is contracted at 24 hours per week and includes working some weekends, so flexibility is required.\n\nRate of pay for this role is £13.45 per hour.\n\nAbout the Role\n\nThe customer is at the heart of what we do at Johnstons of Elgin and providing a first-class shopping experience and exceptional service to visitors is paramount.\n\nYou will be:\noperating the till and carrying out transactions\nan ambassador of the company sharing knowledge of company processes involved in both woven and knitted cashmere products\nconfident in styling & advising customers on fit and styles\nassisting with visual merchandising, stock management & replenishment\nTake groups and individuals on guided tours of our vertical mill to highlight the history, craftsmanship and processes involved.\n\nAbout you\n\nThis is what we’re looking for in our ideal candidate:\nHave exemplary customer service skills and an understanding of luxury retail\nHave a keen interest in craftmanship and authentic Scottish textile manufacturing\nPreferably have previous experience within a fast-paced, customer facing environment\nBe a team player\nHave a pro-active approach and can-do attitude\nHave excellent communication skills\nBe able to stay calm under pressure\nHave high attention to detail and drive high standards on the shop floor,\nHave strong commercial awareness and keep up to date with the latest fashion trends\n\nWhilst previous experience is beneficial, we are more interested in finding personable individuals with diverse skillsets, capable of undertaking in-house training to learn the role.
