Be part of the team that’s up for the challenge\nThe Project:\nSydney Metro West is a transformational 24 km underground railway connecting Sydney CBD to Parramatta, with stations at Westmead, Parramatta, Sydney Olympic Park, North Strathfield, Burwood North, Five Dock, The Bays, Pyrmont and Hunter Street.\nThe Linewide package connects the entire system, delivering the critical rail infrastructure and technology that bring the metro network to life.\nThe Role:\nJohn Holland are looking for an exeprienced Contracts Administrator to join our growing Commercial team on the Sydney Metro West Linewide Project.\nThe role will be part of the site project team delivering the various buildings, facilities and infrastructure at the Clyde Stabling & Maintenance Facility (SMF) and the Rosehill Services Facility (RSF).\nThe role will be based at our offices at Darling Park however will move to site out at the stabling yard at Clyde/Rosehill in the latter part of 2026.\nKey Responsibilities:\nThe Contracts Administrator will be expected to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver project commercial outcomes.\nYou will effectively manage high value and complex subcontract packages allocated to you through all phases, including procurement, scope preparation, tender pack review, tender analysis, subcontractor selection and contract negotiations. Subcontractor management, claims/variations, review and processing, notice writing and contract completion. \nYou will be expected to participate in scope of works planning with the engineering team, ensuring that scope gaps are minimised, cost efficiencies are maximised and subcontractor capabilities are considered.\nAs part of the role you will participate and assist in procurement strategies, including breakdown into individual works packages, identification of potential subcontractors, procurement, methods, timing and comprehensive tender analysis on the returned tenders\nYou will be required to effectively manage subcontracts through all phases, including scope preparation, procurement, cost forecasting, subcontractor management, claims/variations processing, completion and close out..\nYou will maintain contact and good working relationships with our local subcontractors and a maintain good awareness of market conditions and movements.\nYou will be required to assess commercial and contractual risks, identify and implement appropriate controls and escalate actual or potential issues to Senior Contracts Administrator/Commercial Manager and/or Project Manager.\nYou will be expected to operate and maintain commercial and contract systems and ensure compliance with Building Code at all times and report any potential non-compliances.\nThe role requires assisting with preparing reports on commercial performance periodically and on an ad hoc basis as required.\nWhat We Are Looking For:\nPost graduate qualifications e.g. graduate certificate, graduate diploma in Quantity Surveying, Commerce, Accounting, Business, Construction, Property, Law or other associated disciplines.\nProven experience as a Contracts Administrator or Quantity Surveyor in the construction and engineering industry.\nEnd to end procurement experience. \nDemonstrated experience in all stages of subcontract management, including scope preparation, procurement, cost forecasting, subcontractor management, claims/variations management, completion and close out.\nExperience with a variety of project values and complexity, including large, technically complex works packages.\nStrong commercial acumen and awareness in areas of cost management and contract law.\nKnowledge and understanding of industry market conditions and movements.\nDemonstrated ability to manage commercial negotiations.\nAwareness and compliance with document control and records management procedures.\nAs Part Of The Team, You Can Help Transform Lives.\nYour success is reflected in ours, so we’re committed to being an employer of choice.\nWe pride ourselves on having a diverse and inclusive workplace, as we understand that different perspectives and ideas are critical to our long-term success.\nWe want you to be with us for the long term, so providing you with rich career experiences and ongoing development is our priority.\nWe Offer:\nWe’re about connecting your sense of purpose to ours.
