The role focuses on validating and presenting financial and operational data, identifying key performance drivers, and helping business leaders make informed decisions.\nThe FP&A Analyst will work closely with Finance, Accounting, Sales, Operations, and Service teams while developing a strong understanding of the company’s business drivers and financial performance.\nDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES\nPrepare, validate, and distribute monthly financial reports, dashboards, and KPIs.\nAnalyze sales, orders, margins, labour, and profitability to identify key trends and business drivers.\nReconcile Sales and COGS data to General Ledger balances.\nSupport annual sales, margin, and departmental budgeting processes.\nPrepare and maintain budget and forecasting files.\nAnalyze project, manufacturing, and service profitability.\nPrepare labour and service profitability analyses by technician, customer, supplier, and other key areas.\nTrack major project profitability through revenue and cost analysis.\nPrepare landed cost reviews and investigate significant variances.\nProvide analysis related to freight, duty, margins, and other commercial factors.\nMaintain the accuracy and integrity of financial and operational data.\nIdentify opportunities to improve reporting, automation, data quality, and analytical processes.\nCollaborate with Finance, Accounting, Sales, Operations, and Service teams to provide timely analytical support.\nParticipate in business reviews and present financial insights when required.\nRespond to internal stakeholder requests and provide relevant updates in a timely manner.\nFollow company policies, procedures, and Health & Safety requirements.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nRequirements\nQUALIFICATIONS\nEssential:\nUniversity degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.\nMinimum 2 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, FP&A, accounting, or business analysis.\nAdvanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.\nExperience with financial analysis and budgeting.\nWorking knowledge of corporate accounting principles and financial management.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nStrong organizational and time-management skills.\nAbility to prioritize multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.\nStrong attention to detail and accuracy.\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a team.\nAbility to learn and adapt to new systems and software.\nDesirable:\nExperience with Epicor Prophet 21 (P21) ERP.\nExperience with Tableau or other Business Intelligence tools.\nAdvanced degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.\nWorking toward a professional accounting designation such as CPA.\nExperience with financial reporting automation and dashboard development.\nExperience analyzing sales, margins, labour, service, or project profitability.\nExperience supporting forecasting and budgeting processes.\nStrong interest in continuous improvement and process optimization.\nDemonstrated alignment with John Brooks’ values: People First, Customer Focus, and Pursuit of Excellence.\nWORK ENVIRONMENT\nFast-paced environment in a dynamic competitive industry \nDaily customer and inter-departmental/branch communication via telephone calls, faxes, emails, and virtual meetings \nExposure to deadlines, multiple demands and priorities, multi-tasking, and interruptions \nAt John Brooks Company, our People First value is at the heart of everything we do.
