Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors.\nJohns Manville is seeking Engineering students for our 2027 Summer Internship Program based in Richland, MS. The internship will run from mid-to-late May through the first week of August, with interns working full time throughout the summer.\nOur program provides hands-on engineering and business experience through meaningful, challenging assignments that support innovation and growth across our operations.\nAt the conclusion of the internship, JM interns deliver a formal presentation of their work to senior leadership at our corporate headquarters in Denver, Colorado. This experience offers valuable feedback, exposure, and insight as students prepare to enter the workforce.\nYour Day-to-Day:\nTake an active part in the execution of product development projects.\nOwn a high-value manufacturing problem from definition through implementation-using plant data, production observation, and disciplined experimentation to improve process capability, quality, productivity, cost, safety, or energy performance.\nTranslate technical findings into business impact by prioritizing the largest controllable losses, quantifying benefits and tradeoffs, managing risk and resources, and aligning recommendations with customer and plant priorities.\nApply engineering analysis, statistics, root-cause problem solving, project management, financial justification, standard work, and cross-functional collaboration with operators, maintenance, quality, EHS, and leadership.\nDeliver a validated improvement or implementation-ready roadmap with measurable results, sustained ownership, and an executive-quality presentation.\nProvide project status and laboratory reports as required.\nSupport the development of Process Technology by assisting Nonwovens team with the development of technical solutions to improve operations and product performance.\nProvide an active role in process development projects to reduce manufacturing cost and improve product performance.\nReview and interpret production data to support operational decisions.\nParticipate in coordination with appropriate team members on priorities for production lines\nIdentify process improvement opportunities\nManage projects along with daily work\nCollaborate with and manage contractors as needed.\nTake an active part in the execution of product development projects.\nDevelop and integrate product and process documentation to ensure consistency and accuracy\nWhat You Bring to the Team:\nPursuing a B.S. degree in Engineering ( Mechanical, Chemical Electrical preferred).\nCompleted at least sophomore year of undergraduate course work and enrolled in classes for coming semester.\nMicrosoft Office (Word, Excel PowerPoint, Outlook).\nAbility to work in a team environment.\nPreferred Qualifications\nGPA of at least 3.0 at an accredited college or university.\nDemonstrated leadership skills.\nBasic understanding of production processes\nStrategic and creative thinking\nAutoCAD experience\nINTERNSHIP PROGRAM\nThe Johns Manville Internship Program is designed to provide challenging and fulfilling work in your area of expertise.
