Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus.\nInternal candidate can be based out of a plant location.\nThe purpose of the Payroll Specialist’s role is to assist with ensuring payroll related activities are processed timely and in accordance with JM’s payroll processing schedule while providing HR, payroll, tax and benefits transactional support to the organization.\nYour Day to Day:\nEnsure accurate and timely data/file transfers from Client to third party vendors according to the operating schedule and resolve any errors\nAssist with the reconciliation of payroll payments, wages, deductions, and applicable adjustments to ensure accuracy and compliance\nPerform data entry for payroll, benefits and HR transactions\nSupport maintaining the validity and integrity of payroll system data and ensure all payroll and tax transactions are compliant with Federal, state, and local laws, as well as company policy, processes and practices\nResearch issues and provide recommendations for resolution/correction related to payroll processing activities and outputs (checks, reports, files)\nStay up to date with tax laws and employment regulations.\nExecute and respond to audit requests\nUpdate payroll, tax and HR process documentation as directed\nManage payroll inbox and respond to inquiries\nPerform compliance activities for unclaimed property payroll checks\nDevelop and run reports to support plants and other groups within the organization\nPartner with internal teams to identify process improvements\nSupport the leave of absence adjustments related to payroll\nManage unemployment for local and support field inquiries\nManages daily mail, intaking and delivering incoming and managing all outgoing\nProcess/support all court orders to include and not limited to garnishment and tax levy’s in ADP\nBack up to Time and Labor specialist\nSupport transactional processing for Corporate as needed\nCreate and deliver training as necessary\nMay be required to perform other related duties as assigned\nWhat You Bring to the Team:\nBachelor’s degree with 3 years’ experience or minimum of 5 years’ multi-State payroll experience including taxes and garnishments, pay calculations, multi-state taxation rules, wage and hour laws and functional payroll processing.\n1-year experience in a manufacturing (hourly and salary) union environment preferred.\nPayroll certification preferred or willing to obtain within next two years.\nSolid understanding of payroll compliance regulations\nOutsourcing experience preferred.\nTrustworthy with attention to confidentiality\nSolid interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills\nProficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook\nStrong problem resolution skills\nSolid project coordination skills\nSolid customer service skills\nFamiliarity with accounting principles\nStrong attention to detail\nAbility to work independently and in a team environment\nMay be required to lift, carry, push or pull up to and including 25 pounds\nMinimal travel required (0 - 10 days per year)\nWork environment is typical of an office setting\nIncumbent must be physically able to perform essential job functions.
